3/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageDonna Shepard IS is in the midst of growing a transformative culture of student leaders as well as building a positive environment for children to learn and grow. I couldn't be more proud of our time at DSIS, and I look forward to my younger children experiencing the same as my daughter has.Parent Review4y ago - Mary Jo Sheppard Elementary School

3/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageMJS has so many loving and EXCELLENT teachers who are committed to excellence. My child has attended this school since kindergarten and is currently is 2nd grade. My kid is one of the youngest in his grade, struggles with reading, and has a disability, however, this school’s culture of excellence and care ensures that he grows every year. Mr. Legeune is a wonderful principal. He knows his students by name and you can tell he loves and cares for students while also ensuring staff are supported. He is retiring this year and will be missed. Ms. Proctor is an outstanding AP and she is a great advocate for students and teachers. She has been a blessing while navigating how to best support the growth of my kid, us as parents, and my child’s teachers with the challenges my kid has faced. Ms. Bickford is a wonderful teacher who does an awesome job bridging learning at school to support parents at home. She is a rockstar in the classroom and brought my child from well below scores to 80%< accuracy and fluency who’s a student who struggled to know many letters in Kindergarten and got him READING by the end of 1st grade. Ms. Johnson has also been wonderful and the data shows again the my child’s reading score went up from a 14 to a 62 (50 points) and the school year is not over. I have found MJS teachers do great work in their classes, but student success must be supported at home and parent involvement is crucial to student success. I have found most teachers at MJS to be great collaborators with parents and all teachers put the kids first. Ms. Lundeen, the new nurse this year, also stands out and she is the most kind, sweet, and loving person. She provides outstanding care to my child who must see the nurse daily! The teachers and staff that are a part of the before and afterschool are ALL awesome. They start and end our school day with the highest quality of care, love, and support. Their program provides awesome variety and keeps my kid happy even when he has longer days than most kids. We love them!!!Parent Review1mo ago - Mansfield Legacy High School

6/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageRun, run, run. This is about the worst school possible if you care for child in anyway. If your kid loved school going in, it does not take them long to dread it. Administrators are nothing but a joke. Worst kind of role model you can have. Its hard to tell a child to respect adults when the administrators is this bad. Just do not understand how a school system can have such a large number of incompetent teachers and administrators.Parent Review6y ago - Check out schools near 1603 Watson Dr.

"i've Lived in the Northwestern part of mansfield for ten years. The schools in the MISD still have very high ratings, but appear to be slipping depending on where you live in the city. The population has grow quiet substantially.bringing in new shops and restaurants. As far as transport,in the central part of the city walking paths are a plenty and traffic is not to bad.In the outer regions of the south, west, and eastern areas. The land is more dispersed so walking paths are quiet rare and traffic is rather growing or no existent. There are plenty of parks. If you count all the school playgrounds. In total there are five city parks all of which are contected. Most neighborhoods are traditional middle to upper middle class. The central region consist of mostly middle to high class somewhat older homes(70-90's),eastern region mostly upper middle class newer homes.southern region mostly lower to middle class homes ranging from some of the first homes in the city to homes in the 80's and 90's,northern region mostly lower to upper middle class somewhat newer homes(90-2000's),western region lower class to upper middle class homes(90-2010's).Apartments are not to common with most of them along HWY 360 or behind the Target store.Crime isn't a major issue. It is mostly minor theft(people stealing from cars) or traffic stops. There is a city bus service for the senior citizens and that's about it for public transport. For jobs it's mostly all service industry, but there are warehouses and manufacturing plants in the southern and eastern area;with some in the western area. The main freeways are HWY 360(eastern area),HWY 287(throught most of the city)Business 287(western),FM 1187(western),FM 157(central to south)."
