I would echo previous comments regarding leadership lacking, teacher engagement is at an all-time low, and general apathy for the children's education is palpable. There is little to no communication from teachers and referencing Canvas for curriculum which is just a smattering of educational bits to "guide" you in helping support your child at home. Lessons are quickly reviewed, tested, and then the class moving on rather than caring for comprehension or even time for kids to digest new material. My child came home noting the teacher was "too busy" to do small group instruction or simply forgot about their Friday writing day. The quality of the education has taken a steep decline this year and I feel my pre-school had a better pace and curriculum. I know there are quality educators in the building, but unfortunately, they are so diluted with the ones just showing up that its affected education overall. Sadly, it appears retaining talent wasn't a top priority of the leadership team.

My son attended SLHS all 4 years and graduated this year, and I must say as a parent, this school is, by far, THE BEST! I myself attended Fountain Valley High School in California, which is one of the best schools in the state, and SLHS far exceeds FVHS in education AND support. The teachers are just so incredibly involved with each and every one of their students. I most certainly NEVER had that in Fountain Valley! That may be irrelevant as a student, but as a parent, it’s so incredible! My son ended his high school years with a great sense of accomplishment and pride. He and I are so very proud of his experience at SLHS.

Rude is the 1st word from experience I got from my initial visits. The Principal secretary doesn't answer anything, she may even ignore the parents standing at reception. This would be my son's fifth school, but nowhere I have seen this attitude. If this is how the staff would behave, I wonder what the kids would be learning. I understand that rating wise school may be good, but that doesn't mean the staff to behave in such a bad manner
