This school is awful. This is my first child’s first year of school (kindergarten) and it was worse than I ever could’ve imagined. I hated it just from the registration experience but kept waiting to see something different. The whole first month was something every week. My daughter stated a teacher said she felt warm but the teacher let her decide if she went to the nurse. She came home with a fever. We have reduced lunches but she wasn’t allowed to have a chocolate milk. She’d lost her report card. (Assume another student took it home because we always get other kids papers.) The nurse refused to give antibiotics because she didn’t follow protocol and the principal ignored my emailed concerns. This isn’t even it BUT the cherry on top of it all was my daughter fell at recess, was sent to the nurse yet sat at school for 4 hours with a broken arm and PAIN in which the sub teacher and nurse were both informed of. NOBODY CONTACTED ME. The principal had nothing but excuses for the nurse. I wanted to pull my daughter from the district but she wants to stay because she loves her friends and teacher. She will not be returning and I’d advise every parent to do whatever you can to keep your child out of this school district. I’ve had good experiences with her homeroom teacher and the assistant principal but other than that, it’s all been the worst nightmare.

This school is failing at every level. Someone needs to step in a revamp this whole system. The educators here have lost their moral and care. Students are out of control in the most literal way. Principles and Councilors don’t have time to care to help. DO SOMETHING!!! You are failing the students of Walker County. Vaping - Fights - Bullying - Skipping - Teachers choosing to tiktok instead of teach - Teachers melting down on children - Teachers Allowing students with disabilities to just fail in the classroom because they don’t have enough time nor energy to consider taking the extra time to help them. All upper staff needs to be held accountable at this point and either make positive change or get out! These kids deserve better leadership. This school has been educationally failing for far too long that now the students expect the educators to care less. This is out of control and will take one heck of a strong minded group of educators to turn this systematic failure around.

Wouldn't even turn this district into a pet training facility.

We have been homeschooling for 19 years. I have three children, whom used the k12 program two have graduated and went on to Texas A& M. My youngest is in the 11th grade. The work load and AP courses are realistic , in a comparisons to what they should expect in college. TOPS gives me as a parent the chance to see my daughters strengths and her weaknesses. Her teacher are great at working with me to ensure my daughter's success .

School administrators can't seem to get it together. They have some great teachers, some so-so teachers, and some that coundn't find their way out of a paper bag. I constantly have to babysit the teachers, gradebooks are never right until the end of each quarter, they took away all social outing this year, and have failed in all the promises they keep making. We have given it two years now. This school SHOULD be amazing. Doesn't seem like a college prep school at all and the disappointments are many with this school. They do have some outstanding teachers that are on top of things but then there are those that I constantly have to remind to do things. I WISH they would do better and expected better of themselves, not just the students and the learning coaches. We play second-fiddle to their sister school (TXVA) constantly. I honestly would have given them 2.5 stars but it wouldn't let me do it. DO YOUR HOMEWORK BEFORE CHOOSING THIS SCHOOL FOR YOUR CHILD! I did tons of research but unfortunately they are great at making promises they cannot bring to fruition!
