8/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageWe recently moved to Houston from Dallas. This was my daughters first year here and she attended first grade at Elrod Elementary. There were some pros and cons. As far as the new principal, family events, and letting the parents get very involved was great! On the other hand my daughters teacher was friendly and did teach her new things, (as I expect she would) but most of the school year they didn't have homework or any papers coming home. "There’s a bayou close by, and several parks to walk your dogs, but lots of fleas. Also, lots of strays and owners that walk their dogs off the leash. "

"We’ve been in Westbury almost one year. My neighbor is an original owner of a 1958 home. There are some very nice, well-kept homes in the neighborhood. Close to Meyerland/Bellaire area which is more upscale area with good retail options. "
