"Commute to downtown can be challenging on the freeways depending on the traffic and weather but it is still much better than living in the suburbs. "

"As a new Houstonian, The Heights serves as the perfect introduction to living in the city. The neighborhood feels just suburban enough to feel like home, but is also super close to downtown and all other cool area neighborhoods. "

"You see people walking their dogs at all times, always on a leash so it’s helpful for dogs that are not dog friendly. Everyone picks up after their pets and there is a great dog park close by!"

"We are new to area so still trying to learn all aspects of the area. People are polite and seem to respect others property. All neighbors have dogs on leaches but there is a large empty lot where pet owners allow their dogs to run free. Which is worrisome. "

"This neighborhood is very close knitted and people will watch out for you and especially your children. The only thing to watch for is people who want to steal and vandalism. Not by your community but outsiders. "

"Driving out of the city to a suburban campus ~40 min each way. Driving, carpooling or vanpooling are the only commuting options. "

"Neighbors look out for one another. The growing season is virtually all year long so Houston is very green giving me such an uplifted feeling. My past boss said I’d hate it and would be out in a year. Well, that was 15 years ago as I look out at puffy brilliant white clouds painting a blue sky with ducks gliding across the pond beyond my backyard. A cheery sight in February, the month of pansies, snapdragons, and squirrels checking their stashed of acorns from my neighborhood’s many live oak trees which keep lushly green year round."
