8/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageBoth of my children attend and I cannot say enough about this school. I volunteer frequently here and one thing I've noticed is that only commitment to the profession of molding children is accepted by the staff. I feel anyone who would work at this school with the attitude that it is a job would be hard pressed to remain as a member of the staff. I am a 24 year Army vet whom also has adult children and I can say that after dealing with a lot of schools in a lot of states, this is by far, along side DOD's schools the best.Other Review7y ago - Escontrias Early Child Center

N/AGreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageThis has been a good school and my son has learned a lot with the teachers he has had so far. The staff is courteous and well mannered. I however would love for so many of the parents to learn from this example as well. Parents are disrespectful and do not always follow guidelines. Drop off and pick up times are a mess and this is due mainly to adults not following rules. They park wherever its "convenient" for them so that they don't have to walk with no regards for anyone else around them. People do not follow the speed limit warnings and all this just makes what should be a normal experience into such a headache.Parent Review11y ago - Col John O Ensor Middle School

7/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageThis school prioritizes grades over mental health and is negligent. The teachers there drain the spark of curiosity out of every child and only cares about their outer appearance. When they aren’t at the top, they berate students for not meeting standards. On the negligence aspect, when a student is being harassed, they either do nothing or the bare minimum. I’ve seen children bullied for skin color, learning disabilities, appearance, and more. You can do better than this school.Student Review7mo ago - Mission Early College High School

8/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageI am a senior at Mission Early College High School. My main concern with MECHS is the incessant push to attend UTEP. It is apparent that going to another university is discouraged. I have also found a problem with some of the teachers. Most teachers at MECHS are extremely dedicated to their students. However, there are a handful of teachers that do not care and do a very poor job at teaching. One time, I had a final exam that was prepared and graded by a teacher's hand-picked group of favorites. Worse, the office did nothing about it. At MECHS, teachers have authority, and the office does not engage in the affairs of the classroom. So in reality, teachers are left to their own devices. What I find most worrisome about MECHS is the have, have-not divide between the students. Those who graduated EPCC early and are enrolled in UTEP their senior year are heavily favored and are given blatant special treatment. However, despite the negatives, this school attempts to blend the structure of high school with the freedoms of college. The administration respects and trusts the students. Overall, this school is overhyped, but it has some very bright spots.Student Review13y ago - Eastlake High School
