"There is a soccer field across the street. Kids play quite a bit there. Harker Heights has many activities at library and rec center. very nice place to raise a family. Not a great place for jobs. Skate rink at the corner less than a mile away."

"No sidewalks to walk dogs on, so that’s the only downside. But there is a dog park nearby a lot of houses. We also have decently sized backyard they can run around in and there is not a lot of noisy dogs. Good city to own dogs in! I would highly recommend!"

"Yeah... you have a dog? Great. probably another pit that will become homeless. If not, cool. You won't like that we don't have many dog parks. The parks we do have are MOSTLY run down, with exception to Carl Levin park. Dogs like to be left out in the yard barking at night (sarcasm) so if this is your dog you'll fit right in! oh, and crime is high. So maybe get a guard dog."

"You must have a car to get around. There is a bus service but its limited. Its about an hour drive to downtown Austin. I can get to Fort Hood in about fifteen minutes on I14 and to Temple in about 30 minutes to the Veterans Administration Hospital."
