Description

This property is not currently for sale or for rent on Trulia. The description and property data below may have been provided by a third party, the homeowner or public records.
When this beautiful, classically styled home was built in 1919, it was built to last. The exterior walls are 3 bricks thick, not brick veneer and interior walls are plaster. Sitting on four lots in the Park Street Historic District, this house is one of the few remaining properties that go through from Park Street to Cornelia Street. There is access to the property from three streets. The huge cross-fenced backyard features many mature trees including over a dozen pecan trees. The large dining room, living room, and den flow into each other with original french doors separating the den and living area. The large kitchen offers ample cabinetry, a breakfast nook, and an adjacent butler’s pantry with glass-front doors and a marble-topped counter. The den has a wood-burning fireplace, with a marble hearth and surround. The south wall of the den is all windows and french doors with a view of the patio and expansive, St. Augustine grass lawn. The dining room, living room, den, and hallway have newly refinished, original, hardwood floors. There is new carpeting in all bedrooms. The large master bedroom with an adjacent large master bath features a walk-in shower and two large closets. There are three additional closets located in the hallways, including one with a keyed lock for storage. A 440 square foot concrete basement can be used as a safe room or finished out as an additional room. The spacious 20’ x 20’, 2 car garage has a new automatic roll-up door with two openers, lots of light for projects from the 4 windows, and pull-down stair to attic storage above. Attached to the garage is a newly updated office/guest quarters with half-bath and features a separate entrance, brick patio, and separate meter. There have been multiple upgrades to the house including new light fixtures and fans, new gas lines, plumbing, hot water heater, a/c, and furnace. The convenient driveway has an entrance from two streets and the front sidewalk are edged with inlaid brick and newly landscaped flowerbeds. The Park Street Historic District produces a popular annual Park Street Fourth of July parade and horse-drawn carriage rides at Christmas for viewing Christmas lights along the street. "This originally was a safe and quiet street a couple years ago. Now, it’s saturated with crime, disrespectful children and parents and high traffic areas. Definitely not as bad as it could be in certainly not where I want my children growing up. "

"don't know...I don't have a dog. but if I did it is because I can walk them in a park close to my home...and a few blocks from Pet Smart."

"We don't interact or have community gatherings. Everyone keeps to themselves and doesn't bother one another. There is a church down the street that hosts events. We've been to the Halloween events but I'm unsure of the name of the church. "

"Not a good place to live because you have kids running around the complex unsupervised. Trash all around the complex because people are to lazy to put in trash. They have no security cameras around so they don't know who is doing it. We have a family of 7 in a 3 bedroom apartment on top of us and they let the kids run around all hours of the day and night. We've complained but they don't care. I guess HUD families are what they want to keep here. That's ok because they are going to be the one's to run this place down just like every other apartment here in Greenville Texas. "

"Quiet neigborhood with children in the area. Neighbors keep their lawns manicured and well cared for. Not much drama in this area. Streets are narrow, so I don't recommend parking on the street unless necessary. We have lived in this neighborhood for over 26 years and like it there."
