4/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageAs a white student, there should be a section in teacher training for AAVE. Too many black students get sent to the office and put into suspension because their AAVE got mistaken for “disrespect”. There are also only a total of about 5 teachers in the entire school that are supportive and understand how mental health affects learning.Parent Review1y ago - Vanston Middle School

4/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageMy child although he made Honor Roll throughout the year did not do great on the STAR. When I went in to ask for help, trying to be proactive and get him the help he should be getting during the summer I was told, "since he was in 7th grade it did not matter if he failed"! That to me is mind-blowing. IF a child is struggling he should be helped out regardless of his grade. I tried to explain how this did not make sense since next year this would actually hold him back a year. I explained I was trying to be proactive and I was denied any help or resources for my child. He started school off with homework and assignments and by Christmas he had none. I emailed teachers and they would send verbal responses with my son. Why would you do that, that is not professional. I later learned this is a common practice for schools, once they procure their funding they don't care to properly teach.Another teacher spent all year writing referrals and walking out of class because she was on the verge of a nervous break down due to her class. Why are these kids not permanently removed? Other children need and want to learn. My siblings and I are all products of PUBLIC schools and we are all college educated with careers, so I trusted them, however I will NOT make the same mistake with my second child.Other Review8y ago - Price Elementary School

5/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageI have 3 children who attended Price elementary school from K-6 and we loved their school and teachers.Every teacher in every grade throughout our entire 20 years at Price was encouraging, respectful, and appeared to be in a happy and healthy work environment. Of course, this will lead to a healthy learning environment. To all critics leaving 1 or 2 stars because their child did poorly, it's time to take responsibility for your child's education success or failure. Education begins and ends every day at HOME. Don't make excuses for your child. Take responsibility and encourage them to be better.Parent Review1y ago - Check out schools near 5706 Bentley Dr.

"neighborhood is always clean and maintained and you can walk and feel safe in doung so. ths people are friendly and having next-door app helps keep you posted on the things going on around you i think that helps keep rhe crime rates down. another thing i really like is if your fur babies gets loose are come up missing and when alarmed everyone is on the lookout for them. They take missing animals as serious as missing children. "

"this area is acceptable as far as crime in neighborhoods goes..it's also ok if u have younger children..however I do believe high school kids in this area can be led down some very dark paths NC of peer influences alone..I've witnessed teens in thi as area involved in what I've always considered adult activities only...maybe it was just my perception but fyi "
