6/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageThis school sucks, fights almost daily that are covered up by administration, bullying allowed and also perpetrated by coaches. Violent conduct barely punished, those students allowed to attend after multiple attacks. Drug use rampant. It is a horrible school in an affluent area, those with more get the best - those with less get ignored at best.Parent Review1y ago - John M Tidwell Middle School

8/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageIf you are a parent of a first time middle schooler and need extra direction and care, this school is not for you. The communication is horrific! Wasn’t made aware that gym uniforms were to be ordered during summer. Wasn’t made aware that the electives that are required for every student costs an arm and leg. My daughter is in band and instruments aren’t made available unless you actively buy a monthly rental at a rental shop or you flat out buy your own, which can cost thousands. You also are required to pay for the years band events, including the end of the year “final” where you are required to drive your kid to a school in another town so they can be graded by another school. Why is another school involved in this? Why do we have to pay for this? During my son’s elective choosing, he choose football. I figured it would be another class like art, gym, etc. No, I am required to get him a physical, pay for equipment and shuffle him around to other schools once a week so he can play competitive football against other teams. Why is this information not made aware to the parents when they have a student choose their electives? Electives should be free as they are MANDATORY. This is highly expensive especially if you have more than one kid going to Tidwell. The communication between teachers and parents is abysmal and basically nonexistent. Staff treat you like a nuisance when you reach out to them with questions. My son got bullied and forced to fight twice last year, resulting in ISS because he defended himself. It’s obvious the students are not watched as I have personally seen older students vaping, cursing out adults and completely running around like they own the place. Just overall, many changes need to be made with this institution before they get sued after a child becomes injured.Parent Review7mo ago - Check out schools near 3221 Outlook Ct.

"It’s quite small and centered between route 210, Waldorf, and National Harbor. Most living here are families with good jobs. Also it has become an area with steady growth in the surrounding commercial zoning locations due to the increase in residential property development. It’s a budding location with a lot of potential to offer its current and future residents."

"NoMa Bid has been creating a huge sense of community in Eckington and NoMa. For one they keep the area so clean and you always see their workers sweeping the sidewalks, changing trashing, maintenance at the dog park. And then there’s the events, most at the A.T. Park and the MBTrail. Movie in the park, farmers market, holiday events like pumpkin patch/contest, and of course the mural walls festival. The trail and park have beautiful murals everywhere and each year local artist renew most of them. (NoMa in Color). Also the dog parks is a big vibe in the area, Eckington Dog Park is the best in the city, but there are 4 in the area. Also, Bouldering Project is a cool bouldering and fitness gym. Theres tons of grocery, restaurants, bars and beer gardens, etc. it’s surround by Union Market, Brookland, Shaw, H Street… all connect my the MBT (bike/walk trail) and NoMa/Gallaudet Metro Station (subway).
