5/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageI have no children or family members at this school or in the district. I receive at least daily robo calls to my cell phone, interrupting my days and evenings. I receive calls from live persons as well and request to be removed from the call list. No one is paying attention, I continue to receive the calls. Is there anyone out there that has advice as to how to get off the call list?Other Review10y ago - Sierra Vista Elementary School

7/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageOur time at Sierra Vista has been truly amazing. Our son has autism and an IEP. He was in the schools PBS (positive behavior support) classroom. It is for “high” functioning kids on grade level (1st-3rd grade), but need a higher level of support than they could get in a larger classroom. The classroom had 10 student, 1 main teacher and 3 para’s so there was a lot of individual instruction for each child. Everybody in the school is very friendly, kind, warm, and ready to help. I can’t say enough about the classroom teacher Ms.Chavira, the kids call her Ms.J. She is the best teacher we’ve ever come across! She has a passion and love for her job and the kids she works with! She does a great job keeping each child engaged and having fun learning everyday which is so refreshing. She takes the kids on monthly field trips, but it’s called “instructional based learning.” My son has flourished with her educationally and socially this year. He has made so many friendships with the kids in his class. We’ve had amazing interactions with everybody from the superintendent of special education, speech therapists, OT therapists, the ASD specialist, the diagnostician, his teacher and paras and everybody in between. As a military family we are very sad to be leaving Sierra Vista this year, and would come back in a heartbeat if given the chance. We will miss the school and everybody in it!Parent Review3y ago - Americas High School

4/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageThis is by far the worst school I've ever seen you cant be sick without them completely making you fall behind. teachers and staff only care about money they don't care about the kids all the care about is how much money they are getting I absolutely do not recommend going to this school or even thinking about going to this school they don't even let the kids use the bathroom my child would come home everyday crying because of how mean the teachers are and how strict they are. And they are not strict in a good way. I hope this review helps when deciding to go to this school because i dont recommend. Don't even get me started on the nurse or councilors. They are the worst but the worst one of all is the principle all she wants is money money money. And there is fights at that school everyday.Parent Review1mo ago - Escontrias Early Child Center

N/AGreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageThis has been a good school and my son has learned a lot with the teachers he has had so far. The staff is courteous and well mannered. I however would love for so many of the parents to learn from this example as well. Parents are disrespectful and do not always follow guidelines. Drop off and pick up times are a mess and this is due mainly to adults not following rules. They park wherever its "convenient" for them so that they don't have to walk with no regards for anyone else around them. People do not follow the speed limit warnings and all this just makes what should be a normal experience into such a headache.Parent Review11y ago - Mission Early College High School

8/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageI am a senior at Mission Early College High School. My main concern with MECHS is the incessant push to attend UTEP. It is apparent that going to another university is discouraged. I have also found a problem with some of the teachers. Most teachers at MECHS are extremely dedicated to their students. However, there are a handful of teachers that do not care and do a very poor job at teaching. One time, I had a final exam that was prepared and graded by a teacher's hand-picked group of favorites. Worse, the office did nothing about it. At MECHS, teachers have authority, and the office does not engage in the affairs of the classroom. So in reality, teachers are left to their own devices. What I find most worrisome about MECHS is the have, have-not divide between the students. Those who graduated EPCC early and are enrolled in UTEP their senior year are heavily favored and are given blatant special treatment. However, despite the negatives, this school attempts to blend the structure of high school with the freedoms of college. The administration respects and trusts the students. Overall, this school is overhyped, but it has some very bright spots.Student Review13y ago - Check out schools near 12581 Greg Martinez.
