5/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageI have no children or family members at this school or in the district. I receive at least daily robo calls to my cell phone, interrupting my days and evenings. I receive calls from live persons as well and request to be removed from the call list. No one is paying attention, I continue to receive the calls. Is there anyone out there that has advice as to how to get off the call list?Other Review10y ago - Americas High School

4/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageThis is by far the worst school I've ever seen you cant be sick without them completely making you fall behind. teachers and staff only care about money they don't care about the kids all the care about is how much money they are getting I absolutely do not recommend going to this school or even thinking about going to this school they don't even let the kids use the bathroom my child would come home everyday crying because of how mean the teachers are and how strict they are. And they are not strict in a good way. I hope this review helps when deciding to go to this school because i dont recommend. Don't even get me started on the nurse or councilors. They are the worst but the worst one of all is the principle all she wants is money money money. And there is fights at that school everyday.Parent Review3w ago - Escontrias Early Child Center

N/AGreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageThis has been a good school and my son has learned a lot with the teachers he has had so far. The staff is courteous and well mannered. I however would love for so many of the parents to learn from this example as well. Parents are disrespectful and do not always follow guidelines. Drop off and pick up times are a mess and this is due mainly to adults not following rules. They park wherever its "convenient" for them so that they don't have to walk with no regards for anyone else around them. People do not follow the speed limit warnings and all this just makes what should be a normal experience into such a headache.Parent Review11y ago - Loma Verde

9/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageMy kids have attended this school for 3 years and we have loved every teacher, and the staff know all of the kids names. Even during COVID, the teachers were great and did what they could to help the students be more comfortable and not be stuck to a computer for 8 hours.Parent Review1y ago - Mission Early College High School

8/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageI am a senior at Mission Early College High School. My main concern with MECHS is the incessant push to attend UTEP. It is apparent that going to another university is discouraged. I have also found a problem with some of the teachers. Most teachers at MECHS are extremely dedicated to their students. However, there are a handful of teachers that do not care and do a very poor job at teaching. One time, I had a final exam that was prepared and graded by a teacher's hand-picked group of favorites. Worse, the office did nothing about it. At MECHS, teachers have authority, and the office does not engage in the affairs of the classroom. So in reality, teachers are left to their own devices. What I find most worrisome about MECHS is the have, have-not divide between the students. Those who graduated EPCC early and are enrolled in UTEP their senior year are heavily favored and are given blatant special treatment. However, despite the negatives, this school attempts to blend the structure of high school with the freedoms of college. The administration respects and trusts the students. Overall, this school is overhyped, but it has some very bright spots.Student Review13y ago - Check out schools near 12213 Myrna Deckert Dr.

"It’s quite small and centered between route 210, Waldorf, and National Harbor. Most living here are families with good jobs. Also it has become an area with steady growth in the surrounding commercial zoning locations due to the increase in residential property development. It’s a budding location with a lot of potential to offer its current and future residents."

"Best place to live in DC. It’s a beautiful neighborhood that is urban but not downtown. It’s all about the park and trail, tons of restaurants, things to do, grocery stores, markets, bar. Has its own metro in easy walking distance and a trail that connect you to the east side of the city. "

"NoMa Bid has been creating a huge sense of community in Eckington and NoMa. For one they keep the area so clean and you always see their workers sweeping the sidewalks, changing trashing, maintenance at the dog park. And then there’s the events, most at the A.T. Park and the MBTrail. Movie in the park, farmers market, holiday events like pumpkin patch/contest, and of course the mural walls festival. The trail and park have beautiful murals everywhere and each year local artist renew most of them. (NoMa in Color). Also the dog parks is a big vibe in the area, Eckington Dog Park is the best in the city, but there are 4 in the area. Also, Bouldering Project is a cool bouldering and fitness gym. Theres tons of grocery, restaurants, bars and beer gardens, etc. it’s surround by Union Market, Brookland, Shaw, H Street… all connect my the MBT (bike/walk trail) and NoMa/Gallaudet Metro Station (subway).
