6/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageI attended Denison High School. The education in minimal and the students are not cared for as they should (in regards to both their physical safety as well as emotional security). The staff are questionable and often have biases that continually affect their teaching. The worst part of my experience while at DHS was the prevalent sexism and racism amongst the staff members as well as the student body. Truly a horrible experience for myself, my siblings, and my family members. I now have a child of my own and am actively searching for schools that differ from DHS in every way I can find.Parent Review2y ago - Henry Scott Middle

4/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageB McDaniel has some of the best teachers in our area. Our child is number one in their class at high school because the Pre-AP teachers set them up for success. Moreover, the principal is always a listening ear and cares about the children when it comes to academics, athletics, safety, special needs and extra curricular activities. A win for our kids!!!!!!Parent Review11y ago - Terrell Elementary School

3/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageThe principal isn't suitable for her position. A child was/is being bullied & was falsely accused of misbehaving on the bus. After being PUNCHED in the face on the bus. The principal advised the parent to find a different route for the child being bullied, instead of handling the situation. She is very rude & impassive when asked about conferences to handle these situations. He was made to sit on the back of the bus where it was extremely hot and he didn't even understand why. All that was said to him was he wasn't allowed to sit by anyone. It wasn't even addressed until the parent brought it to the principal's attention.. in which she was, again, rude and the child mentioned was suspended from the bus after ONE incident. Zero tolerance policy? This is seriously joke.Other Review2y ago - Check out schools near 30 W Parnell St.

"Short and sweet. Nothing is too far from anything else. The next largest city is Sherman, TX - a whopping 10 mile south of Denison. The traffic between here and there can be testy, but is rarely grueling."

"Way too many pit bulls and aggressive dogs in the neighborhood. It is hard to take your dog for a walk without getting jumped on by another dog. It has happened to us more than once. "

"We have a great dog park in the middle of town. People are very friendly and have their dogs fenced. I have witnessed most dog owners have their dogs on leashes. There are various dog stations, like poop bags, downtown. The stores will put out a water bowl for the dogs. There’s a lot of things to do with your dog. They have a festival just for dogs in the spring. You can take your dog trick or treating and dress them up. I love living here with my family and three dogs. "

"The only con to living in this area owning a dog is the street I live on, Morton st, is a very busy street. But thankful I have an alley in the back with plenty of parking, leaving me enough room to take her out back there. "

"Our neighborhood overlooks a quiet old cemetery that gives the area a sense of timelessness, we have kind neighbors who take walks with their spouses and families, and a great relationship with a veteran neighbor who keeps an eye out on our place when we are away. New brick homes are being developed around us, so we are looking forward to their positive impact"
