When it comes to academics and teachers we like some things about the school and we don't like others. Administration has been supportive and good about communication. Our kid is happy and feel safe, so that's what matters most. Define arts program is excellent and I highly recommend the advanced classes.

We used to love this school. Sadly, the longtime principal (of 30 years) retired in 2021. He had created an amazingly welcoming community where the parents and teachers worked hand in hand to make the school welcoming real community. The school has been on a roller coaster since he left. The first principal reported to be very toxic with the staff and left at the beginning of 2023. The second principal is a temporary(retired) principal who makes misunderstandings between parents and teachers much worse. Instead of building bridges and community between the teachers and parents, she pits them against each other and stokes upset with the teachers against the parents. The school is unwelcoming, and the staff at the door offer scowls and blank expressions. The smiles and welcoming nature of the old admin is certainly missed.

I’m a student who transferred to Bowie. The school as a whole is ok but i wouldn’t recommend this school for anyone.First of all, most of the teachers are bad. They are negligent and don’t try to help us. They find ways to make everything more stressful. The faculty is also bad. The counselors and the principals don’t care about you. Nothing is confidential and they lie to you.The last problem is that they have one of the worst online learning management systems i’ve used. The website is finicky and all the computers are old. Their student portal system is horrible and half the time doesn’t work. I would encourage you to not attend this school.
