3/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageWe really love this school and are surprised by the low ratings compared to others in the LTISD. I think that may be due the different economic status of the students zone for this school. Regardless, it's a nice campus with very caring teachers. Administration has also been great. My son has special needs and the school has supported him well.Parent Review2mo ago - Lake Travis High School

5/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageI used to recommend this school when my 3 other children were here. It was a Blue Ribbon school, The School to watch, and a 9/10 in ratings. It's now a 5/10 rating. If you have a dyslexic child do not go here. The history teacher gave my dyslexic child crossword puzzles and a ton of packets to fill out and read every single lesson. And the reason for the very low grade, a diary project. She just couldn't do it and cried every night staying up so very late working on it. She would turn it in and he would send it back saying it was wrong and this continued and continued till she just stopped caring. I being a history buff did it for her and guess what it was still wrong!!! Seriously!!! I asked her teacher to just ask her the questions. She can accurately answer any history questions for hours, but there is no way she can write a novel about being a kid during the Texas Revolution. He still continued to do it his way saying in his email that she needed to be challenged. The principals are AMAZING, every one of them, and most of the teachers are incredible. They have a very hard school to deal with and absolutely zero help from LTISD. They have just let it plummet like the elementary not far from the middle school Lake Travis Elementary. We had to move out of the school zone to get my daughter out of LTE and when she arrived at Serene Hills, they had to test her to see how far behind she was, because as I was told, the kids we get from there are very far behind and we need to catch them up.Parent Review3w ago - Check out schools near 15109 Pheasant Ln.

What Locals Say about Lakeway

"There is a new Dog park, most things are pet friendly, you will find multiple people walking their dogs at all times"

"I’ve lived here since 2017. It’s grown a lot even since then. We live in a private, small gated neighborhood and it’s wonderful. There are lots of people moving to Lakeway from California and other states changing the vibe and driving prices up significantly. It’s got great pockets and then very large densely populated areas. At this rate the entire city will be much denser and different in the future."

"Lakeway is a great neighborhood in the central Texas area. Austin is a close drive away. The hill country is a beautiful area of the state. Lakeway itself is safe and a child friendly community. "

"great paths and hiking trails, streets to walk on and a few dog parks. Great vets, boarding and day care and quality local pet food and supply stores. Small dogs and cats cannot be left outside unattended because of hawks, owls and coyotes. "

"Great area different age groups. Different house plans. Most all are custom homes. Friendly atmosphere and people. Great schools and well maintained community. Taxes are the only drawback extremely high and for those who have raised children already school taxes are overwhelming high. "

"This area has fabulous parks for families. The LT school system is excellent. Make sure your children are involved in music, arts drama or sports to keep them busy. There is problems with drugs with many children with too much idle time on there hands. "

"It’s beautiful, near the lake, great parks everywhere here, gorgeous wildlife and kind neighbors. There’s not one house that’s alike. The police force is good, but almost not needed. Crime rate is super low. But too many people here now! "

"Lots of dog owners here in Lakeway. Parks offer dog park as well. Plenty of walking trails in the city. Homeowners are good about dogs barking bother neighbors "

"No sidewalks. No street lamps. No daycare. Very few parks. Too much traffic. The neighborhoods are not culturally diverse. The cost of living here is too high primarily because the school system is top rated and therefore, even if you do not have children that are school aged, you are still paying taxes as if you did. "

"It is like living in a glass bubble. There are no sidewalks. There are very few over head or street lights. Everything except Whataburger closes by nine o’clock. There are no local movie theaters. The average age is fifty years old. There is no public transportation . There are no bus lines or commuter trains running in through town. There is not enough parking available at the high school.? And of course, most of the high school students are driving their own vehicles because that’s a status symbol here. "
