Assigned Schools
These are the assigned schools for 15009 Natural Spring Way.
- Chisholm Trail Middle School

7/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageCtms is a good enough middle school with some caveats that need to be addressed by the school:- for the most part, teachers are great Chisholm. There are exceptions, mostly with coaches forced to teach (some, not all)- vice principal support is strong and grade level focused- the principal is VERY focused on athletics, especially football. His weekly emails/video updates focus 90% on athletics. Academic achievement rarely gets called out and if it does, it is not nearly with the same enthusiasm as with athletics. Even within athletics, football takes the main stage. Other sports take a back seat. School social media is also very football focused - it is well known within the school that certain teachers will always give football players passing grades in order to participate in football games. This is very disheartening to students who put in the effort. This privilege is used as a brag by football players. - certain history teachers don’t even try to teach kids and have a “reputation” among students.- on the plus side, the school put a no phone usage policy in place this year which was a fantastic moveIf the school could give as much focus/praise to academics as they do to athletics, the student culture would be much better. The hierarchy created by the principal is disappointing. Again, not a bad school, just an easy opportunity to change the culture away from football focus only.Parent Review5mo ago - Success High School

1/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageThis school makes every other school look like a prison. Succes high school has the most caring and effective methods I've ever seen and I wouldn't have graduated high school if it wasn't for them. Truly a wonderful school.Other Review6y ago - Joe Lee Johnson Elementary School

3/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageJoe Lee Johnson Elementary was fantastic for the first several years it was open. It has continued to go downhill since. There seems to be pervasive and systemic issues that remain unresolved and continue to grow. While many of the educators do genuinely care about the students, the school cannot seem retain quality teachers and is continually understaffed. Children are moved between classes far too often and the administration seemingly does not keep track of how often individual children are moved, resulting in a severe imbalance of those affected. They also have a massive problem addressing behavioral issues, whether a result of poor administration, understaffing, poorly defined processes, or an inability or unwillingness to follow processes in unknown. There are many children at this school who obviously need special attention and are not receiving it. There are also many children at this school who downright should have been removed after multiple disruptive offenses, yet for whatever reasons they remain, and take away from all the children there to learn.Parent Review6mo ago - Check out schools near 15009 Natural Spring Way.
