5/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageIf you are looking for diversity stay away from Bethpage Elementary. Schools curriculum is slow and holds up students who know material already. Nothing is taught for months at a time. Students are passed regardless of knowledge of curriculum. Teachers are not qualified to work with kids of color. Principal is a push over and fails to enforce any corrective punishment from students because he is close to certain parents. Stay awayParent Review1y ago - Portland High School

6/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageRegret moving to this area because of this school. Sumner board lied to me about it being a “state law that you can’t switch schools anymore you can only go to your zoned school” when I asked to move my daughter to a neighboring school due to the number of issues we have had at Portland East. Called the state myself to confirm. There is not such law. Girls are being targeted and discriminated against. The staff picks and chooses which “rules” to follow in the handbook. Teachers/principals are more concerned about what girls are wearing everyday instead of teaching them an education. Principal told the 6th graders he wishes he could paddle the kids. Teachers are rude and disrespectful to the students. I wish we never moved to this area. I give this school zero stars.Parent Review1y ago - Check out schools near 100 N Jones Rd.

"Nothing really. It’s a lower middle class neighborhood. People behave for the most part. It consists of smaller, starter house tract homes."

"Drakewood Dr is the best neighborhood in Portland. It has a beautiful lake and the yards are kept perfect. There are some wealthy people that live in this neighborhood. The people who talk about Portland bad, must be low class. So move out of our town. "
