7/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageHorrific administration. Untrained and only concerned with behavior. Administration knows very little about children with disabilities and causes so much trauma. There are no checks & balances and administration is not held accountable for their inappropriate choices & actions for neurotypical and neurodiverse students. Would never send children there unless under new administration. Some staff is appropriately trained, but a lot of them are also very unhappy with administration as well and this affects interactions with students & families and hinders how they can and cannot help students appropriately. So many unethical things taking place within administration and staff. School board has ever growing list of complaints about this leadership team; in particular the principal. PLEASE DO CURRENT RESEARCH before choosing Eakin for your student!!!Parent Review1mo ago - Hillsboro High School

4/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageThe score for this school unfairly depicts the hard work and outcomes that Hillsboro is actually known for. The I.B. program is incredible and students who elect to participate in the Diploma Programme, most go on to university more prepared than their peers from other top public and private schools. The social justice program and initiatives are changing how the city looks and feels about race, diversity, and opportunities. The building has undergone a $100 million dollar renovation and now has state of the art technology integration and a library and media center any school would envy. The athletics and arts programs are consistently competitive at the state level. In short, the people who judge this school by it's overall ranking are missing out on an incredible educational and community experience.Parent Review3y ago - West End Middle School

4/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageI was a student at west end for 2 years and I left the school this year because it was a bad experience for me. The kids would fight and get into arguments with teachers which took time away from the other students in the classroom. Another thing is, I have adhd and they did not do a lot of the things on my recommendation list that they were supposed to. The teacher got mad at me for zoning out or fidgeting, which I couldn’t help. The school also caused me really bad social anxiety by all the kids Who would harasses or talk about me and the staff would not do anything about it which made it harder for me. I now go to a great private school and I’m happier and feel safer that I have at school in a while. (I have to put current student but I’m not. )Student Review4mo ago - Check out schools near 128 Acklen Park Dr.

"Most people here are singles/young couples and not a lot of children but all kind of pet dogs and cats. People are generally nice but don’t pick up after their dogs and hence not a very kid friendly area for toddlers/kids to play outside. "

"Safe neighborhood that’s close to pretty much everything. Minutes from downtown, grocery stores, restaurants, and the interstate. While it’s close to these things, it’s also quiet."

"I’ve lived in this neighborhood for two years and love it. It’s very quiet, close to everything and is pretty safe. I wish I could afford to purchase a 3 or 4 bedroom but more family oriented homes are hard to come by. "

"I’ve lived in this neighborhood for three years and have noticed all ages of folks walking dogs, walking to centennial park, attending activities at the park."

"It’s a nice mix of ages. People are friendly and pick up after their dogs. Also, for a dense population, it’s quiet. It’s also convenient to parks and greenways, walking distance to community centers."
