9/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageBEWARE IF YOU ARE A PARENT OF A BLACK CHILD!! Lots of unconscious bias, and micro-aggressions from the staff and teachers that can make kids (and parents) feel discounted and uncomfortable.Things like certain kids getting praised for work vs. not - or certain kids getting called on vs. not. The differences in reaction from staff can be very subtle, but kids pick up on it and become aware of the distinctions in the way they are treated as compared to their peers. There is also an alarming lack of transparency into how certain things work - gifted/special programs like "scholars", or special parking spaces for certain families who can pick their children up early. No one seems to know nor want to share how these programs work, or what the criteria and requirements for selection are. And as we know, subjectivity in these programs allows for favoritism, nepotism, or bias in selection.Maybe your child's experience is/will be better. The kids (and parents) were great and more than welcoming to us and our family. Beware as class sizes are growing due to the migration into the area (my child's class had 24+). It's an A rated school, so they are doing something right for the majority. But if you are in the minority...well your black child shouldn't dread going to school or ask to move because of bias (whether intentional or not) from the school admin. For us and our child who had a 95+ grade in every class over 2 semesters, we felt we had to get them out both for their own mental health and happiness, and so we can give them more academically.Parent Review1y ago - Station Camp High School

9/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageCoaches steal all your family time by making "mandatory" practices during family vacation weeks like fall break or any other break during the school year. WHEN SCHOOL IS OUT. it's absurd and teaches kids family is always second. And they should never make time for family. Uou know what actually matters. It's not the military. It is just a silly game after all, there's no war this isn't the military. They also have the highest injury to the children in the area. Id move to a different district.Parent Review1mo ago - Station Camp Middle School

"Hendersonville is a lovely place to live! I have been here for 29 years. I have always felt safe and comfortable here. This city has grown especially over the last 10 years, but continues to have a small town feel. People are friendly here. There’s a decent amount of shopping. A few areas of that shopping are laid out poorly. Good restaurants. "

"Nothing. The HOA rides around looking for fines and bi law violations. It’s almost as if you live in a city with people that have nothing but time on there hands and want to treat you as a minority. Wonderful spot if you like to be bothered by drama and rude and merciless idiots."

"I have lived all over Davidson Co, Dickson Co, & Montgomery Co. My family & I moved to Hendersonville 3 years ago and it’s the best decision I’ve made as a single mother. The sense of community is amazing. There’s a great selection of shopping & eateries compared to other cities on the outskirts of Nashville. My neighbors are wonderful and considerate. We live in a country setting, however, it’s 5-10 minutes to grocery markets and other amenities. Schools are wonderful too. "
