What Locals Say about Hendersonville

  • Trulia User
"Dogs in my area are usually off leash and get along fine. Very few neighbors mind and you just call your dog back if they are uncomfortable- definitely a dog friendly community "

"We have lived here for 5 years and we love it for shopping, schools, friendly people and amenities! The people here welcome new neighbors from everywhere because everyone here is a transplant themselves. "

"Hendersonville is a lovely place to live! I have been here for 29 years. I have always felt safe and comfortable here. This city has grown especially over the last 10 years, but continues to have a small town feel. People are friendly here. There’s a decent amount of shopping. A few areas of that shopping are laid out poorly. Good restaurants. "

"The neighborhood is mostly quiet a lot of police to protect neighborhoods Expensive to live close to Nashville"

"They would like the sidewalks and the nature trail in our neighborhood. Most people do a great job of cleaning up after their dogs and not letting them run free or bark uncontrollably. "

"Traffic is horrible, the city planning was lacking in the growth of traffic, roads are in rough shape, potholes and bumpy, the flow of traffic in the shopping areas is atrocious, red lights are not timed well. "

"I live in Hendersonville. There are really two Hendersonville's - East and West. West is newer and has great homes, shopping and restaurants (e.g., Indian Lake area, The Villages, etc). West is older - the original lake community. Lots of smaller businesses and older homes. Still nice but older. "

"I am coming to the end of my lease at this complex. I failed to pay attention to the requirement that I give 60 days notice before leaving, EVEN IF MY LEASE IS UP. I had planned to stay for another six months, but have to move in with an ill parent now. The office staff would not compromise on the 60 days notice and is requiring me to pay the exorbitant month to month rent for 45 days AFTER MY LEASE IS UP. They were also very rude and unpleasant about this issue, making a difficult family situation even worse. This is not something I've ever encountered in a complex before. Also, there was a recent sexual assault attempted in the complex. The police went door to door trying to find out any information about the criminals. I no longer feel safe in the complex. I would absolutely not recommend renting here. All customer service, and even common courtesy, end after you sign your lease. "
