5/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageStudents: The students here are awful; they are very vulgar, rude, and extremely unprofessional. None of them try, partially because this county has low expectations. Fix: Scare them don't suspend them just warn them, call people to office when they have bad grades/are vulgarTeachers: Any teachers being bad makes my rating of all teachers go down, since that means at least one of your grades will be worse than what it would've been with a better teacher. While you can teach yourself to make up for it, that is difficult, and you don't know the standards or when you should learn each standard. In other words, you need a teacher. Most teachers are good; however, for a few classes, there are issues. Currently, my issue, along with many students as well as my siblings that used to go there, is a particular math class commonly taken by 10th/11th graders. I don't want to outright say because it's someone's job, but the pacing is awful and lessons feel incomplete. There is nothing done to actually get what is taught in a student's head. The tests have stuff that is either only shown but not taught to us or something entirely new. Most of the test is stuff we were taught; though it's just we weren't taught it well. We were pretty much presented with a lesson instead of taught one. This class has been a burden this year, and I regret not changing schools this year for one like Creekwood. I also believe more than one teacher doesn't do enough to attempt to personally relate to students and try to push them, making it a very uncompetitive environment. Many classes just aren't paced well; they either go too fast, or teachers don't get personal enough to help the students that actually struggle with what is being learned. For example, the perfect class outline would be like: the teacher pushes the student to make a better grade, saying something like this, "An 89? Good job, but I know you can do better than that. Try fixing this "__" and ask for help fixing it if needed." The timing should be like half of class as the lesson (full lesson days when needed but work the next day) and the other half working (with hopefully spare 10ish minutes for issues) while the teacher walks around to see if students are doing things correctly and actively helps them when needed without them asking.Note: Near straight A 10th student has 71 FG in mathAuthority Figures (excluding teachers): In the majority, they are great and help shape you to become a good student and individual.Student Review1mo ago - Dickson Middle School

5/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageMy daughter is an 8th grader. She has anxiety and is coping greatly. The principals and teachers are great. However; some of them have personal issues that they need to keep as personal. My child has told me thst some of her teachers yell& curse at them. They tell their personal buisness. Fights are prevalent there. In 2023, one can expect this from a middle school. The kids are dealt with when caught ! They are sent to ISS or NDA. I make myself known at the school. My daughter is learning and loves to go . She has met some good friends who help her with the anxiety. The lunch is okay. There are some good teachers there. Hats off to Principal H, Asst Principal R,Coach Profitt Ms. Green and the others. I never worry when I drop her off at school. She learns.Sports are important because it is in Dickson County, but attendance& learning are priorities. They have a motto that is upheld..go one more round for each other. Am a minority mom and am glad she has blossomed.Parent Review11mo ago - Centennial Elementary School

7/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageWhen my son started k I had never even heard of centennial, but we were zoned there. After talking to a few people I had heard nothing but great comments and was relieved. We are now almost half way through 1st grade and we had moved over the summer but attend centennial out of zone. We plan to do so (hopefully), until we buy a house with in Centennial's zoning map! This is such a great school! Teachers and staff are so nice, polite, and helpful! Most of the teachers and principal know the students by name and greet them in the mornings at drop off! Education has been great my son has learned so much in a short period of time and at some points ahead of other schools in regards to reading compared to when my step daughter's school started learning to read (they are in the same grade level). We love Centennial and hope to be a part of the Centennial family until all of my kiddos move on to middle school! :)Parent Review7y ago - Check out schools near 567 McElhiney Rd.

"If you work in Nashville the commute can be anywhere from an hour to two, depending on traffic. Usually it an hour and a half for the evening commute. "

"I have lived in this neighborhood for 18 years. It has changed from the middle class families that built the houses in the 70’s to those families moving into retirement. Some stayed. Some left. Some have passed on. The vacancies left have been filled with new families that now have older kids. I’m sure it will go through more changes as I am aging too and getting ready to be an empty-nester. The people have changed, but the area remains a good family neighborhood."

"Overall, Dickson is a nice place to live. There’s always events in downtown. It is relatively safe depending on the neighborhood. The schools are okay, but definitely not as good as Williamson county. The commute to Nashville isn’t too bad. "
