4/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageDon't send your child here if they are special needs they will lie to you and tell you they follow IEPs meanwhile expecting you to be on call at any given time to "tell your child to do their work please" what's the point of my child getting an education with people trained in the field if they can't follow a simple iep OR offer special needs transportation they can't give a simple answer on how to provide it for my child. This school is horrible my children have never had the terrible grades they currently have until now . Disgraceful. School board needs to investigate why they can only provide education to non-special education children. My children also don't feel safe as they keep witnessing children jump each-other and assault each-other. It's disturbing this is how they handle their students.Parent Review1y ago - Chattanooga State Mid College High School

9/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageBy far, this school is the only way to go in Chattanooga. These students are college ready before they complete their 9th grade, and they are living breathing college from day one. Absolutely no other school on this side of the state comes anywhere near the test scores or graduation rates. And a nice plus - the leadership and staff are a pleasure to work with. They know their stuff and treat our children as if they were theirs. I've looked to relocate with my job to other states, and I can tell you that a program this good is very, very rare indeed. This one school is worth staying here until they graduate and in the U of Tn system for another two years at least.Parent Review5y ago - East Hamilton School

7/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageIf I could turn back time I would have never sent my child to this school. The education is mediocre. It's straight from the books, nothing to engage or excite your child. The reason the grades at ok are because most of the parents income levels allow for outside tutoring. They overly focus on a strict dress code. They stop class to individually metal detect students for cell phones because cell phones are a hindrance. Like interupting the class to violate personal space is not. Bulling is terrible. The worst part is the administration allows it if not also participating. The teachers can often be heard gossiping with students about other students and administrators. They do nothing about threats of physical violence. One student stabbed another, the student that did the stabbing was allowed to return. The staff definitely have their favorites and let it be known. Favoritism is awful here and they do not try to hide it. The teachers are just as "cliquey" as the students and this school is clique strong. Drugs are abundant. One student can be found in possession of substances and it be ok whereas another may be expelled depending on their clinque same with the bullying. Drugs are very common in the bathrooms. This is a serious problem at this school but as long as it's not a cell phone it's ok. Communication with teachers is nonexistent. Most schools get excited about parental involvement at EHS they act annoyed by it. Forget getting a reply from Mr eller ever. He isnt concerned with actual issues just maintaining his control and authority. The school seems unorganized and no one can ever give you a clear answer for anything if you actually get in contact with anyone. There are a handful of teachers who seem to care but they seem overwhelmed most of the time. The clubs and activities are a joke. I hear of things that are happening at other schools and wonder why EHS is trying for that type of engagement.Parent Review5mo ago - Hamilton County Virtual School

3/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating Averagesame as everyone else. There are problems with the high school they don't really teach they just yell at the kids they just have a very boring "do this" and never actually get any learning.Parent Review1y ago - STEM School Chattanooga

8/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageFor the 2015-2016 school year I have been extremely pleased with STEM school. The principal and staff members actually want their students to succeed. The class sizes are small, students take ownership of their work and other responsibilities, and the environment is exactly what I wanted for my son.Parent Review8y ago - Check out schools near 734 Julian Rd.

"Chattanooga has good and bad parts of town. There are tons of things to do as a family or single/married couple. Good restaurants and lots of outdoor activities. The school system is not good unless you luck out and get to go to a private or charter school. The schools are old, run down and in need of a ton of work but most of the teachers/staff are usually really nice and care about the kids. "
