4/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageI went to brown last year the school rules is bad. The rules when u was there were no type of jackets with hoods on them, later on in the year no phones in hallways because recorded fights. No backpacks in the bathrooms because vapes etc. Backpacks reasonable, phones were out of hand. Had certain tables to sit at in lunch, school was dirty, everything about the school bad I wouldn't even bring the school up around people. Nothing is good about the school except a couple of staff members, ( councel, teachers, etc. ) the shool rules now, after i left are no phones in the hallways, even worse no phones at all the phones stay in the lockers. No hoodies or things with hoods. No bathroom what so ever. Not in class, passing period, nothing. They get a 1 minute passing period, i already know the staff is horrible. They should from old experience be strict on everything. Brown middle school is the worst school in Chattanooga maybe even Tennessee.Other Review1y ago - Central High School

4/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageI entered Central with mixed feelings, having heard not the best things about the school, and most of my friends were attending Ooltewah instead. However, looking back, I have no regrets. I absolutely loved my experience at Central. It is its own community, but you definitely get back what you put in. Take the time to learn about the school, its history, alumni, and the amount of people that truly love it. Love Purple, Live Gold.Other Review4y ago - Harrison Elementary School

2/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageThis is hands down the worst school I have ever experienced in my nearly 20-year career as an educator. It looks pretty on the outside - nice new building and all. But inside, it is a nightmare. Students are fighting in the halls on the way to class in the morning, fighting in the bathrooms, fighting on the playground. Students bring weapons to school. The lower grade hallways reek of urine because the students just go wherever they want to go - in the hallways, on the walls, etc. The custodial department is severely understaffed. We routinely did not have toilet paper, soap, or paper towels. I had to buy toilet paper and bring it in for myself and the students to use. Teachers are expected to sweep their own classrooms each day. Classrooms are not deep cleaned over the summer months. That falls to the teachers as well. The teachers are horribly stressed, abused, and unsupported by admin. Administration hides in their offices, seemingly aware that the problem has grown too big for them to tackle, so they just hide. I would caution anyone who cares about the safety of their child avoid this school. Safety and hygiene are severely lacking here…let alone education. Harrison Elementary is a very sad excuse for a school.Teacher Review2mo ago - Sequoyah High School

9/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageBy far, this school is the only way to go in Chattanooga. These students are college ready before they complete their 9th grade, and they are living breathing college from day one. Absolutely no other school on this side of the state comes anywhere near the test scores or graduation rates. And a nice plus - the leadership and staff are a pleasure to work with. They know their stuff and treat our children as if they were theirs. I've looked to relocate with my job to other states, and I can tell you that a program this good is very, very rare indeed. This one school is worth staying here until they graduate and in the U of Tn system for another two years at least.Parent Review5y ago - Hamilton County Virtual School

3/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating Averagesame as everyone else. There are problems with the high school they don't really teach they just yell at the kids they just have a very boring "do this" and never actually get any learning.Parent Review1y ago - STEM School Chattanooga

8/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageFor the 2015-2016 school year I have been extremely pleased with STEM school. The principal and staff members actually want their students to succeed. The class sizes are small, students take ownership of their work and other responsibilities, and the environment is exactly what I wanted for my son.Parent Review8y ago - Check out schools near 4825 Northwind Dr.
