4/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageHonestly this school might not be the best in the world, but its not nearly as bad as it’s made out to be. All that is needed to do good at this school is apply yourself. The teachers do a great job, and I have been able to maintain a Grade average of 98.9 and get A’s on finals in APs. All you have to do is try. It’s an overall great high school experience if you want it to be.Student Review3y ago - Ooltewah Middle School

6/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageWorst school for academically challenged.Every fun and social event is ruled by grades & behavior (both). If a student is not passing a course for whatever reason - she will not be able to attend any fun or social event. Student development is both social and academic to name a few. So I will never get the ruling by an iron fist to make homework get in. Getting work done is all fixable by saying you can't do X if you don't finish X. So many issues are at play with so many different students. Yet the blanket approach is - do it or you can't go. This school gives public schools a very bad name. No exception for special Ed students... After 2 years here, I get why its one of the worst schools in the district.Parent Review1y ago - Sequoyah High School

4/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageI am a recent Sequoyah High School graduate and I have to say this is the best high school. The teachers are great, the guidance counselor is awesome and so helpful, even down the the nurse being an awesome person and so caring and helpful. I went into Sequoyah because the former principal Mr. Jackson (he retired 2019.) had the inkling that I would be able to bring up my grades and do good at Sequoyah. And I was able to. I went from failing 3 out of I believe 5 of my classes at my old high school my freshman year because the school that I previously went to was just that bad, teachers and student wise to having all A’s and B’s my sophomore year and continued on to get straight A’s my junior and senior year. This school helped me succeed not only as a student but as a human in general. I was taught so many things from the teachers and not just learning material. I was taught kindness, integrity, and other strong foundations for going off into the “adult” world. If you are thinking of sending your child to Sequoyah, please do because it is the best school with the best staff. I love and miss this school very much.Other Review4y ago - Bess T Shepherd Elementary School

4/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageI was a student here from 2013-2018/2019 and I personally LOVED it here, definitely a good elementary the teachers have a way of grasping your attention in classes even if it's boring. Although I've heard things have changed most of my teachers are still there, the teachers always helped me when I needed them and encouraged me to be a good person. I would recommend your kid to come here and have a good time learning, coming from someone who doesn't like school now and saying I liked going everyday to school there is pretty big to me.Other Review2y ago - Chattanooga School for Arts and Sciences Csas Uppe

9/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageBy far, this school is the only way to go in Chattanooga. These students are college ready before they complete their 9th grade, and they are living breathing college from day one. Absolutely no other school on this side of the state comes anywhere near the test scores or graduation rates. And a nice plus - the leadership and staff are a pleasure to work with. They know their stuff and treat our children as if they were theirs. I've looked to relocate with my job to other states, and I can tell you that a program this good is very, very rare indeed. This one school is worth staying here until they graduate and in the U of Tn system for another two years at least.Parent Review5y ago - Hamilton County Virtual School

3/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating Averagesame as everyone else. There are problems with the high school they don't really teach they just yell at the kids they just have a very boring "do this" and never actually get any learning.Parent Review1y ago - STEM School Chattanooga

8/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageFor the 2015-2016 school year I have been extremely pleased with STEM school. The principal and staff members actually want their students to succeed. The class sizes are small, students take ownership of their work and other responsibilities, and the environment is exactly what I wanted for my son.Parent Review8y ago - Check out schools near 2103 Regency Ct.

"Chattanooga has good and bad parts of town. There are tons of things to do as a family or single/married couple. Good restaurants and lots of outdoor activities. The school system is not good unless you luck out and get to go to a private or charter school. The schools are old, run down and in need of a ton of work but most of the teachers/staff are usually really nice and care about the kids. "
