8/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageI do not recommend sending your child here if you treasure their mental health. Bullying is incredibly common and I rarely see anything done about it. The food here is also awful. I have received over four spoiled mild and the food is often inedible. The standard for students is completely set by other students and is unfair. You are bullied if you dress different, identify different (LGBTQIA+), or even act different. This school has ruined my self-image and I have changed so much about myself and have so many personal issues I deal with now it’s crazy to me. I’ve heard that I do horrible things to myself from others that I don’t even know, not to mention getting involved with drama that I never interacted with. I have been followed outside of campus by students who make fun of me in school. I have also been humiliated as a way of bullying by many students. Long story short, I and many of my friends have been treated terribly here. Don’t get me wrong, there are many amazing teachers who I would love to have again. However, the school system is also terrible. Grading is another story, but the amount of homework assigned is burdening for someone as young as me (11-14). The teachers often forbid students from going to the bathroom for no good reason other than “I’m teaching.” I appreciate the fact that you are allowed to visit a counselor at any time, but often the counselors treat us as lower beings. There are several articles online about this. I do not mean any ill feelings toward the counselors, but some of them act like a simple apology from a student that has done horrible things to me will solve the issue and did not consider my feelings about being stuck in the same room as them. Overall, I think mental health should be a huge priority here as many students have resorted to terrible things because of it. I am an 8th grader here and can’t wait to leave, in all honesty.Student Review4mo ago - Charleston Charter for Math and Science

7/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageThe policies here are very out of hand. Sometimes they're enforced, sometimes they're not. Students don't know what to do. The dress code is out of control, as girls are allowed to wear very skimpy short skirts, and the teachers get mad at boys for not wearing a uniform under a hoodie. The referral policy is ridiculous! You can get a referral on your permanent record for practically no reason! Most of the classes are very boring, which reflects on the low average test scores, and good teachers are few and far between! This has been my experience in only 2 months as an 8th grader!Student Review1y ago - Check out schools near 341 W Coleman Blvd #E.
