6/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageWateree is a great school. We are a miliary family with two kids, we have been through several elementary schools and this has been the best. The atmosphere of the school is happy and laid back but the kids are very well behaved. The new principal is doing a really good job of moving the school foward. The entire staff really seems to care about the kids...from the teachers on down. The teachers are doing more with less due to the budget cutbacks. The PTO of the 2010-2011 school year seem open minded to trying new things to make the school better for everybody...Bingo night was a huge success. We moved to Kershaw County only because of the schools and we have no regrets. Other elementary schools in the county may have a better rating currently but things are changing at Wateree for the better and I doubt you could find another school with the same atmoshere for learning and making it fun as this...my kids actually love school now and that's the best thing about Wateree.Parent Review13y ago - Lugoff-Elgin Middle School

6/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageWe moved here at the beginning of my daughters 7th grade year. All of the kids and faculty were so welcoming. My child is in AP classes and so far all of the teachers have been awesome and we haven't had the first bit of trouble with any of the faculty. Something I really enjoy about the school is the electives. She is in the music program which is a whole year course. At her old school she was able to take music(whole year)and the required PE and Spanish classes and that was it. At LEMS she still does her full year music class but also changes electives every 9 weeks so she has the chance to do more which is nice. Love that even through 8th grade they get recess. Kids need a break and it may only be 15-20 min it's better than nothing. Pick up and drop off is awesome and moves smoothly everyday. I haven't heard of too much trouble going on at the school. Don't hear of fighting and stuff like that very often. Over all we LOVE this school especially compared to other schools have went to and ones our friends and families kids go to. The horror stories. Thankful for such a great school.Parent Review8y ago - Lugoff-Elgin High School

5/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageHorrible school. Full of bullies and they do nothing to the ones that are from Lugoff or their families are. Good ole boys system. Not even based on money either. Teachers do not care whatsoever about the students. Just there for a paycheck. Know many people in education around the state and the things that happen in this school, doesn’t happen at other schools. Would run for the hills and would never send a child to this school.Parent Review1mo ago - Check out schools near 42 Cobble Stone Ln.

"Quiet. There are a number of dogs in the area but they aren’t loose. This neighborhood feels like home."

"Dogs are welcomed and loved throughout the neighborhood. We have 2 and they love it here. Plus most dog owners clean up."

"No sidewalks to walk dogs but most people are courteous enough to slow down while driving past people out walking their animals. However there are also several people who do not respect speed limits and drive way too fast for comfort. Not only on the back roads (which are usually 45-50 mph), but even in some of the neighborhoods too which are marked at 35 mph or slower. So it just depends on the specific area. Also it’s the country so people let their pets roam free which can occasionally cause issues for those walking leashed dogs. "

"There isn’t a dog park and there are not many dogs in our specific subdivision. I don’t own pets and I honestly don’t know what dog owners would like and not like about our neighborhood."

"Ive lived here for 16 years. This neighborhood is very friendly and we all care about each other. We take care of our properties and we will take care of our neighbors property when they are hurt or ill. Everyone rides golf carts and walks their dogs. It’s really great. "

"they're allowed. I have mine in a nice environment. on the back patio screened in in a large kennel. shaded. easy to keep clean. hes out of the heat. and the bugs cant get to him. he cant get into the ant killer I put down outside his pen. easy to bathe him. bugs dont get in his food. he has his own little living area. and that's one of the big things I'm looking for when buying a home. during the winter I can close it off to the winter elements and heat it. he has a house and bed. and plenty of room to play with all his toys and it gave him room to get to know my niece. I'm so glad his able to be apart of our family."
