8/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageBrockman Elementary is an amazing school. I have two boys and the eldest began as a 4k in 2008. The Montessori philosophy is an amazing way to teach children how to be responsible. There is a framework in place and the children choose their own work within that structure. This creates respectful, self motivated citizens. The teachers are very well qualified. All of them have undergraduate degrees in education and their Montessori certification. Many of them have Master's degrees and National board certification. In my work with the PTO, I have had an opportunity to interact with all of them. I agree with the principal that there are no bad teachers in this school. A previous review stated that this school was not suitable for boys or for children who are not organized. I have a boy with adhd. He is the epitome of disorganized. His lower elementary teacher (1st-3rd grade) worked very closely with us and the school intervention team to make sure he was getting the guidance, structure, and accommodations he needed to be successful. He is now in the 4th grade and doing very well. As you can tell, we love this school!Parent Review10y ago - A. C. Moore Elementary School

5/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageA.C. Moore is a downtown gem. Wonderful and caring teachers, involved parents, and a real neighborhood, walk-to-school feel. Both of our children excelled here and have gone on to success in middle school and high school. The small class sizes make it possible for children to truly shine and receive one-on-one attention; additionally, a vibrant after-school program and diverse student body are both "pluses" in today's world. Our children were challenged in the advanced academic program at AC Moore. The media center and student art "galleries" lining the hallways are not to be missed! For those moving to the AC Moore zone (Shandon, Wales Garden, Hollywood/RoseHill, and University Hill), I would encourage you to check out A.C. Moore. The school has many parents who are happy to answer questions and provide more information about what makes AC Moore so special!Parent Review3y ago - Dreher High School

6/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageWe have several children in our family and close friendship groups who have graduated from Dreher or are currently attending. They have all been served well by the outstanding and caring faculty. They received an excellent eduation and were deeply involved in the arts and athletics. In addtition , they had fun and made lasting friendships with students with widely diverse backgrounds. I attribute the fact that they are comfortable with themselves and form successful business and social relationships easily to the expectations and apreciation for others learned at Dreher. One of my children attributes the fact that he sailed through undergrad and grad programs in programs with intense math concentrations to the outstanding math department where Ms. Murphy and colleagues make even calculus comfortable. The arts program is phenomenal. Some of the children of family and close friends have had difficulties socially and academically but were aslo embraced and encouraged at Dreher. We are all deeply grateful to the Dreher teachers and other staff.Parent Review9y ago - Hand Middle School

5/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageMy kid went to hand during her 6th grade year (2020-21) she had an amazing experience and she got along with everyone. She always came home with good grades. The school provides good academic skills that truly work. After we moved I realized there not many schools that have the same standards as hand middle. I would definitely recommend this school.Parent Review1y ago - Check out schools near 419 S Gregg St.
