I would have to agree that sports is what make the school desirable, but not so much the school as a whole. The teacher quality is decent and there are still a few who are not just working for a paycheck. But, I do feel that the teachers do not have enough parent involvement and there are some teachers or staff members who still have the mind set of the 50's and 60"s as far as racial remarks are concerned.

Almost everything about this school is wrong. If I have to say something good about it is that there is a few good teachers and they push an strong academic program, but those good things get outshined by all the wrong going on in this school. Using the excuse of "trying to keep the school safe" they had made a fort out of this school, not letting parent put a foot inside ever other than once a year in the open house. If you are lucky you might be selected to participate in the only 2, (45 min long), parties that the kids are allowed to have, on Halloween and Christmas. Only 2 or 3 parents allowed per class during that time. PTA, who they are actually volunteers but its mostly run by snobby stayhome moms, and is the most stubborn, rude and obsolete group I've ever seen, always close to new ideas and accomplishing very little. Principal , sometimes is all right, if he decides to pay you or your kid any attention, but otherwise is almost inexistent, hard to talk to, and completely helpless.

this is my first year attending this school. i have been called slurs. i have been spit on. i've been barked at. people have told me to kill myself. people have called me names. people have thrown things at me. but the teachers do nothing about it. no matter how many times you report it, no one does anything about it. our school is millions in debt over a field house that is empty for the majority of the year. they're laying off 28 teachers and cutting extra curriculars. if you're falling your classes the teachers don't care. they just ignore you. most teachers don't make learning fun. they just assign work and expect you to get it done. and they give you very little time to actually get any work done. no one encourages you to learn or to improve. you just have to fend for yourself. if you have the choice, don't go to school here. it won't help you not prepare you for the future, it'll only hurt you.
