9/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageState College Area School District is a joke. Teachers show extreme favoritism to the students and constantly deny other kids opportunities to thrive. They have been investigated by the Pa Department of Education for not meeting the needs of gifted children and have been found non compliant several times. If you happen to be in the inner circle with the teachers your child will have a great experience, but if you're anybody else, be prepared to be denied opportunities, communication, support or anything else your child may need. Please reconsider moving into this toxic environment.Parent Review1y ago - Park Forest El School

6/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageI heard several cases about racism and bullying at school but I don't pay attention. it s all true, they are effective only with white people not Latinos or black. Awful school with teachers not caring about the issue.Parent Review3y ago - Park Forest Middle School

"I have lived here since 2017 and I absolutely love this neighborhood. It's quite, friendly, safe and very child friendly. There is never any crime and you hardly ever hear emergency sirens. Every single neighbor has been wonderful and polite except one. "

"Best place to live in DC. It’s a beautiful neighborhood that is urban but not downtown. It’s all about the park and trail, tons of restaurants, things to do, grocery stores, markets, bar. Has its own metro in easy walking distance and a trail that connect you to the east side of the city. "
- Ryan B

"NoMa Bid has been creating a huge sense of community in Eckington and NoMa. For one they keep the area so clean and you always see their workers sweeping the sidewalks, changing trashing, maintenance at the dog park. And then there’s the events, most at the A.T. Park and the MBTrail. Movie in the park, farmers market, holiday events like pumpkin patch/contest, and of course the mural walls festival. The trail and park have beautiful murals everywhere and each year local artist renew most of them. (NoMa in Color). Also the dog parks is a big vibe in the area, Eckington Dog Park is the best in the city, but there are 4 in the area. Also, Bouldering Project is a cool bouldering and fitness gym. Theres tons of grocery, restaurants, bars and beer gardens, etc. it’s surround by Union Market, Brookland, Shaw, H Street… all connect my the MBT (bike/walk trail) and NoMa/Gallaudet Metro Station (subway).
