Description

This is a beautiful, recently upgraded, one-bed room unit in a two-unit house. The unit consists of the entire first floor, and is completely independent of the second unit in the upper floors, with its own entrance, kitchen, laundry, and central heating and A/C. The interior is modern and refinished, as shown in the pictures, but the furniture is not included.

The property is a short 5-10 minute walk to shops, grocery stores, and restaurants in the surrounding areas on Ellsworth Street, Centre Ave, Highland Avenue, and Walnut Street.

Renters will share the porch, basement, and parking lot with the owners. We plan to add a shared gym and exercise area in the basement.

The owner is a young couple living in the second unit upstairs.

The owner pays for water and sewage, and renters pay for the rent plus other utilities.

Cats are allowed.

No smoking.

At most two tenants are allowed to live in the unit.

There is one available parking spot in the parking lot behind the house (and on street parking in front).

"Shadyside is immaculately kept up. The public areas are clean and safe at night. I'm a small woman and feel safe walking alone at night. There are a lot of families here, and even though we are surrounded by colleges, the neighborhood has much more if a "family" feel than a "college" one. I love Shadyside!"

"If I could afford to live in Shadyside, I wouldn't choose any other neighborhood in the city. It's just the best in all ways: several huge parks nearby, minutes from universities, enough parking (though it's tough sometimes), tons of shopping, restaurants, and most of all the people who live there really care about it. This is Pgh's "chic" area. Very cool and urban but not uptight. If you're going to live in Pittsburgh, live in the east end - and from there, if you can afford it, live in Shadyside."
