My daughter's 1st and 4th grade teachers in particular have made an impression on her that will carry with her for many years. I've had many positive interactions with teachers and administration over the years as well as the very active Parent Teacher Group. Teachers such as Paul Halupa and Kevin Rowan (though Mr. Rowan is, I believe, no longer there) impacted and changed my life. The teachers, coaches and administration really cared about us as a student body and prepared us for the future. If there is any doubt about the school's ability to prepare students after high school (where I was part of a 3x state champion cheer squad) I received a B.A. in English at the UO and a M.A. in education from Pacific U. I am now an English teacher as well! GO COLTS!!Other Review13y ago

"Very dog friendly people have dogs on leashes sometimes you’ll see them at the park without a leash because they’re playing catch the well behaved ones are off leashes very family oriented and Some businesses you can take your dogs into"

"Gets busy but not horrible. Buses run pretty well. Some express buses. Fair amount of stops. Connects with Eugene easily. The rush hour is usually 30 minutes unless there is an accident or other delay. But, if possible, I would take the bus. The roads are getting busier as time goes on."

"Springfield has pockets of homeowners who care, parent their children, and are responsible citizens. But there are other areas within the city that are sketchy. Not necessarily crime ridden, but just trashier. You have to know the area to know which neighborhoods are respectable. "

"Make sure you have a Community that care. Also know the difference between common sense and stupidity when it comes to people and their neighborhoods. There are certain crazies in town, you need to make sure you know the whereabouts of your children and who are with them. Better be safe than sorry."

"easy access to public transit and close to downtown Springfield and eugene but its trash. there is graffiti and homeless people camping out and doing drugs in stairwells, bushes and under stairs. police sirens multiple times a day. I find needles in the park and laundry mat. stay far far away."

"The schools here aren’t so great and there not much to do like there is to do in places like Portland but there is beautiful places to go hikes. I grew up on the McKenzie and absolutely loved it "

"There’s a walking/bike path that goes a few miles. Starting near shopping and bus lines it goes around parks and school, even a tennis court. Lots of grass along the way for your dog to relieve himself. Most people are decent enough to clean it up. The path ends up over near a river and a new path that runs another direction along nature area with wildlife for your dog to bark at. "

"I am retired and drive in when I need to. The commute to Springfield downtown is about 10minutes and the commute to Eugene is 15 to 20. Also about 20 minutes to drive up the river to camping, fishing, kayaking, etc."

"Couldn't be more central to Eugene, hwy126, Franklin near UofO, Autzen Stadium and I-5. Also close to Willamette River, rock flats, two parks, miles of Jogging trails, also fishing in river or ponds. "

"Close to bus line. Close to schools. Short. Easy. Lots of stop lights and crosswalks. Choices on commute. Freeway is very close. City driving also a option. Close to EMX bus line. Lyft and Uber also"

"Do not like it here, leaving Lane County...going home to Clackamas County where I belong...some areas are ok,,some not so much...pretty much the same in Clackamas County, but you get used to your hometown after 11 years."
