7/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageThis school is HORRIBLE when it comes to communication, encouragement towards students, drug use, security and especially academics (which is below standards) The next type high school is looked upon as horrible due to that school takes in probational students, problem students and those who are just not getting it type thing. So the choices is VERY LIMITED to where to place your child at for a actual education. This Roseburg Highschool is more concerned about how much money and donations its get and the perceived look by others to a community "as a good school" when in truth they really just push your kid along without proper guidance and help. As a parent who is heavily involved in my children well being and future I find this very disturbing on so many levels. Not only for my children but for everyone children.I have been told that they dont know where my kid is (should be a red flag just on that alone), that they can only tell the student to get there act together but no encouragement on how to achieve that (again is disturbing) and to top it all off the school doesnt really seem to care if a child is struggling at home or even at school. I have heard some horrible stories from my children about other kids in school whose home life is really messed up and there behavior is reflected at school. Granted not good influences towards other kids. My children are the ones who I have taught to show compassion and concern for the fellow students (which is helping there friends who are having a messed up home to go to) be able to feel like they are cared for. It isnt just the students that needs to step up like my kids are but it should be the teachers who should notice these things too. The problem reflects on my kids personal lives when they are at school and at home. It effects them good or bad and unfortunately the school doesnt even care. I am glad my kids come to me and tell me stuff going on at school. Like books that describe raping a preteen, gender identity disorder, sexual experimentation...then you got the drugs and the rug dealers....the lack of security and lack of communication in the school with students and parents...and the HEAVY LACK OF what a school should be promoting which is the encouragement and help to build up a childs self esteem and respect for themselves and others.Parent Review1y ago - Check out schools near 346 Arcadia Dr.
