1/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageThe administration makes promises they don't keep. The principal is gruff. They left a side door open and unmanned well after school had started. Some of the office staff seem as if they don't know what they're doing. The hall monitors aren't very nice to the students. This school needs help!Parent Review1y ago - Reynolds High School

3/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageReynolds High School is an amazing school. We have great academics, leadership, and sports. We have high numbers of students in Honors/AP classes. Our 2022 senior class president got a full ride to Stanford this fall! We have fun events such as sports games and tailgates, carnivals, and cultural dances to keep students engaged in their social life and tutor/study sessions after school to keep them engaged in their studies. We have a student health center inside the school where every health service is free to students and families. We have a culinary, early childhood education (preschool), metal/wood/car shop, arts building, etc available to students for electives. We have a college and career center where students can go and ask questions and get help for future readiness. We have numerous clubs and also work with AVID, College Possible, CAL, and middle college! All in which helps students for college. We have many lunch options to choose from and they try their best to accommodate with those who have dietary needs as long as you bring it to their attention. Our school even has low cost vending machines for students who need a little extra fuel throughout the day. We have the best librarians who will help you find the perfect book for your likings or any class project you might be stuck on. Our counselors truly want the best for students and will check in regularly and give the best advice on what’s best for you and your academic goals. Our security team does an amazing job keeping students in check and our school safe by monitoring who goes in and out of campus. We have daily news via intercom to keep our students up to date. And offer Drivers Ed (by cost) to those who need extra help learning how to drive (must have permit). With all this being said, yes we are not perfect, no school is. Students have dramatic disputes and that gets resolved right away. But those behaviors are learned from outside of school. And this in no way affects others learning. We have the most diverse school in the area and are lgbtq+ and religion/culture friendly. We’re taught how to respect and love those around us. Those who have the most to say negatively are only the ones from the outside looking in.Student Review1y ago - Check out schools near 319 SE 148th Ave.

"I love this area it's fast paced and lots of things to do close by.people are friendly and look out for one another. it is a high volume area so it has its crime. during normal hours of operation it's just fine "

"SE Portland is full of parks and is very dog friendly. People need to pick up after their pets better though. It's quite disgusting. "

"No one picks up after themselves, and you will walk by violently mentally- ill people at any time. it is not safe nor is it clean enough. I have also found needles in the street and sidewalks. "

"A lot of people in this area on the main streets look like they’re suffering from severe addiction, mental illness, and homelessness. I’ve definitely smelled burning substances near the max station and while walking to food trucks or the nature trail. I would not be comfortable letting kids or teenagers walk around this neighborhood, especially without adult supervision. I’ve seen city trash cans on fire, a churchyard on fire, and heard loud gunshots both during the day and night. I feel like most of Portland has become pretty unsafe at this point, but the vibe in this neighborhood feels more sketchy than some other areas."

"that there is parks nearby for entertainment for kids, community center, and public transportation is nearby for easy access to going places, fast food restaurants and shopping is nearby."

"Hazelwood is a very diverse neighborhood made up of mostly homeowners and families. It’s a walkable, kid and dog friendly neighborhood that feels like a melting pot, much more than other areas. We love our neighborhood, everyone is friendly and says hi on our walks. "

"This neighborhood is no longer safe. Condemned buildings, homeless camp and trash everywhere . People race their cars down the street "
- Trulia User

"Sidewalks are not well suited for walking dogs due to the mailbox locations. Lately a bunch of young muscle car enthusiasts have started racing down the streets. There have been a number of police incidents within a couple hundred feet from my house. I cannot wait to move."

"There is a dog park, of sorts, and there are a couple of parks nearby, but dogs still need to be on a leash at the parks. The parks also seem to be a hub for other, nefarious, activities. The sidewalks are hard to walk with your dog."

"Great access to light rail and the transit station. Another thing I like about this neighborhood is we are in close proximity to freeways and you are in the middle of the mountains the beach, downtown etc. Also the airport is about a 10 minute drive from my house. Not everybody works downtown. I love where I live."

"Easy access to shopping, dining, and the MAX. Also: a nearby police station, hospital, schools and the East County Parks & Rec. Off the major streets tends to be quiet, although one does hear the occasional ambulance for the hospital. Pet-friendly."

"it's a little pocket of nice small homes that are well established. Most homes are owner occupied and the turnover is small. People take pride in the area and their homes. It is convenient to transit, shopping, a large community center, and entertainment. The Jade district is just blocks away as is Portland Community College. "

"There were over 4,000 crimes reported in the hazelwood neighborhood in 2018. Don’t believe me? Check the local police log. I wish we had researched before moving here, the rent was cheap but now we know why. It’s UNSAFE. "

"My neighborhood is made up of young couples with small kids, parents with teens as well as those who have been there done that and are in the beginning of a new stage of life. There are stores, restaurants, schools, and entertainment areas all around, most within walking distance. The neighbors are friendly yet not busibodies, helpful yet not pushy. It's a great neighborhood to start in as a young couple, have a family in and grow old in. I looked around before I settled here and I'm glad I did. This neighborhood feels like home. "
