5/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageI graduated from Churchill in 2009. I was part of IHS and it was an incredible program that prepared me for college so much better than my friends who were not part of that program. I would strongly recommend it to anyone! They also offer a wide array of high quality AP classes and free college now classes. This allowed me to gain college credit for every class I took starting my junior year. I also had total say of my schedule and was able to work in an internship my senior year and my transition to college was smoother than I think it would have if I had had adults looking over my shoulder every step of the way. However, while the school worked great for me and many others, it left struggling students behind and offered no effective support, leading several intelligent but disorganized people I knew to drop out. They all felt like the adults at that school were pushing them toward dropping out, rather than finding a way to work with them. I understand the school has changed its structure, I'm assuming in an effort to better support these students, but as of 2014, I know the school was still struggling in this area. Until this school figures out how to better serve ALL its students, I can't give it a better rating.Other Review8y ago - Cesar Chavez Elementary School

2/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageI love this school and so do/did my boys. The staff is friendly and they reach out if needed and offer help. My son has excelled due to the attention he received. The best part is the diversity.Parent Review2y ago - Arts And Technology Academy At Jefferson

5/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageWe love this school. My son looks forward to school every day. My son does well and enjoys the extracurricular activities they offer. It is very helpful that the boys and girls club is across the street.Parent Review2y ago - Check out schools near 1212 Garfield St.

"Very dog friendly area. Trails have doggy bags but still see lots of large dog poop in some areas.never see dogs off leash. "

"I live close to the bike path. A lot of druggie/homeless persons in the area. My car has been broken into, my bike was stolen off the second story balcony. Neighbors for the most part ok. But others are in your personal business. "

"The bike/walking path is convenient to walk dogs, bike, shorten your walking route. Some areas of the walking path are occupied by the transient community, but I have not had any problems with them personally. "

"Diversity and community of people coming together. Farmers markets and pop up art shows free lunch in the park. Oh yeah and there are tons of parks in this neighborhood "

"I have lived in the Westmoreland area for 2.5 years and I love it! It's quiet, which is my favorite part. 18th is busy, but once you get about a block away, the noise isn't bad. I walk around the neighborhoods nearby a lot with my dog, even in the dark. I feel safe and a lot of the people are very friendly. You can feel secluded, or you can take a quick walk to the store or a restaurant a few minuets away by car. Most properties are well kept and a few even decorate for the holidays."
