5/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageI'm a child, but I see the reviews, and jeez! This school must be terrible if you look from a different perspective (or a parent's). I'm not a child with special needs or a parent with a child with special needs so I wouldn't understand. But children being bullied are going through a lot of pain! And all the teachers do is sit there! But you know what? Schools all have their differences and that's okay! Anyway, forgot my point, but this school is a disappointment and the staff should be embarrassed.Parent Review1y ago - Shawnee Ec Center

N/AGreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageI don't usually do reviews of things but I am compelled to write one for this school. I have nothing but good thoughts of it. My son was behind speechwise by two years. We got him speech therapy since pre-k here and he is now reading better than some of his peers. The teachers are all nice. I especially loved his pre-k teacher Mrs. Rhodes. She went the extra mile to make things special for the kids and their parents. My son is happy going to school and I could see why. Out of any school that he could attend I would hands down have him go there again. The school is new, nice and clean. They are very organized and teach kids manners. That was the first thing I noticed about it before my son even attended. I highly recommend Shawnee Early Childhood Center. I give it five stars in all areas.Parent Review10y ago - Jefferson Elementary School

3/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageThe nurse will send your child home when she doesn't feel like administering the medication the child needs and will argue with you about the fact that all your child needs is to take the medication and they could go back to class instead she would rather your child miss there education.Parent Review1y ago - Shawnee High School

"There are some parks that aren’t kept up with and have discarded needles left around. When it’s not stolen packages and strange people knocking at your door, it can be nice. We have a friendly police force and some of the people here are nice. There’s a lot of local owned businesses and head shops. We have the Crows market that sells fresh produce only from Oklahoma farmers. It’s not so bad, just be careful of where you walk and remember to lock all your doors. It would be good to have a dog with you."

"The north side of shawnee(N of Independence) is the best part of the town. The south is ROUGH though. If you do live on the south side- keep doors locked/windows locked and try to have fenced in yards. "

"Walking trails and a lake. We also have a get together once a year with a cookout & entertainment. I know all of my neighbors right around me & would ask them for a favor or would be happy to do a favor for them. I feel safe here. "

"There are very few sidewalks through Shawnee. Only a couple raids partially have any at all. People don’t really watch for them while driving. The animal control doesn’t help if your animals are lost. Not very good place. "
