6/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageOur experience was not good. The communication about events, tests and any issues is essentially non existent. We did not feel welcome as a family and our child certainly did not feel welcomed by the other students.Parent Review5y ago - Rivers Elementary School

6/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageOverall I think it’s good good school system, but a few things could be worked on. First of all, I feel nervous walking in the halls because I’m afraid that someone will touch me inappropriately. I know it’s not likely, but it happens often to other kids. The teachers aren’t often paying attention to what the kids are saying in the halls. There is some pretty bad stuff. I know it’s “normal” in middle schools, but it shouldn’t be. For example, some of the cross country girls got catcalled by the football players. My friend went to the principal, but nothing really happened afterward. Another thing is the agenda situation. I understand why the teachers want to moderate the bathroom usage, but the teacher should be able to recognize how much a certain person uses the restroom after a while. I agree with being organized, but I think they are a bit extra. Finally, it’s really expensive to get things here. This past year, it was $35 for a yearbook! I think that’s a lot of money for a book of pictures. Getting into dances and games cost money too. If the school wants to treat us, then we shouldn’t have to pay. Think about it like this: if I gave you a pie, I wouldn’t expect you to pay me for the sugar that I used for it. There are a lot of good things the school has to offer, like good education and extracurricular activities. Please put this into consideration.Student Review1y ago - Altus Elementary School

N/AGreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageWill Rogers is the very best elementary school in Altus, OK. Mrs. Nobles has been the principal there for many years and I think she does an outstanding job keeping students motivated and safe. Both my children have been to this school. The teachers show so much interest in each child. They genuinely want each child to succeed. I have a special needs child and they have worked with us continually to improve and support my son's education and well being. They have just added more security to the entrance into their school with all the schools being on a higher alert with recent schools being in the news. Will Rogers open their doors to parents with lots of parent-child activities and concerts for each grade throughout the year. I highly recommend this school. I can't say it enough, the teachers here are of the highest caliber. The staff makes this school A+!!!!!!!!!!!!!!Parent Review11y ago - Altus Intermediate School

9/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageThis was an excellent school. Both my children attend 5th and 6th grade there. The teachers are willing to work with you if your child needs help. Even during Covid-19 they were able to offer safe classes in person and they offer free lunch and breakfast . I cannot say enough great things about the superintendent. You can tell he really cares about the students. The only things I didn’t like is only certain students were offered art and they only chose certain students to be on the archery team despite some students being better or allowing students to try out outside of gym class. For the amount of activities offered at the school it is an excellent choice.Parent Review2y ago - Check out schools near 301 E Elm St.
