6/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageALL schools have bullying. All of them. Jr. High is especially rough as children are learning to interact without guidance. That being said, my daughter was called horrible things, pushed, and threatened. The principal took it very seriously and very promptly. He made a genuine effort to get to the root of the problem and try to resolve the situation. There is no perfect solution. Peer bullying is a complicated issue but I appreciate the principal for his fair mindedness and genuine concern for my daughters feelings. The student councilor is equally genuine and sincere. Having your child bullied is nothing short of heart shattering but I feel the low ratings regarding bullying are unfair. We've had to move many times during our children's education and I assure you this is THE BEST school by far when it comes to handling these hard situations. So far, the school has also impressed me where it really counts. Academics, school clubs, STEM /STEAM programs, and especially arts and music. Boardman has a Fantastic music program! I can't speak to the quality of their sports program because my children do not play a team sport. I really and truly believe that they are doing great work and I'm so thankful we decided to settle down in Boardman.Parent Review7y ago - West Boulevard Elementary School

8/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageI was a student at West Boulevard Elementary School, Kindergarten through 4th grade "a few years ago." It is a wonderful school, all teachers, students and faculty treat each other as equals, with respect, courtesy, and commitment to bringing out the best in each other. This is a standout in my experiences, certainly one of the best schools I have attended. Learning is fun! This is an institution that inspires the principals of peace, truth, integrity, moderation and generosity. Thank you for all you do, this school is a blessing to the community!Parent Review1y ago - Check out schools near 142 Aylesboro Ave.

"Heroin and crack addicts and dealers are running down what used to be a nice neighborhood. People fly off of 680 doing 60 mph in a 25 on Cooper. People throw trash out of their car windows and leave dogs out to get hit. Maybe people should take more pride in the appearance of their home. It’s sad that the few houses who do clean up their yard and maintain their home have to be embarrassed of their neighborhood. "
