8/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageI have been very disappointed with this school. My husband and I moved from another state for our jobs, and when looking for a school for our son, we did our due diligence and researched the surrounding school districts. What Jackson Local does NOT tell you is that if your child is a newcomer, he will be treated very differently. My son on several occasions has stated that he feels "invisible" there - people are not necessarily mean, they just act like he doesn't exist - students AND teachers. He has joined a few different organizations, but says because he is "new", people (including staff) ignore him, don't include him, don't talk back when he tries to initiate conversations. I have had several conversations with his teachers AND the principal, and felt very dismissed by all of them. I was given "we care, but there is nothing we can do" to help him feel like he belongs. As an educator, I find this very distressing, and this attitude explains why there are so many destructive and suicidal students in that building (which they also do not tell you). My husband and I are currently looking to move to a different school district, where all children are valued and cared about. We gave Jackson 2 years, and enough is enough.Parent Review3mo ago - Jackson Middle School

6/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageMy daughter is excelling in math, science, and language arts while enjoying/performing well in social studies. She loves being involved in student activities and running cross country with a highly competitive and strong team. The teachers are encouraging and work to ensure the students are motivated and engaged in their learning.Parent Review6y ago - Sauder Elementary School

"Walk, Drive or Crawl for 4 miles to the nearest store or workplace. Of course if you want to eat outdoors then just walk next doors and grab an ear of corn right off the stalk and go sit on the bench so you will not have to commute into town that day!! Hooorrrayyy !!! Commuting is for other people who want to go feed the ducks on the pond about a mile down the road."
