5/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageThat is so strange. My child goes to Larkmoor and had told me a few times about not being able to eat lunch and missing recess because of missing school because she was sick. And I watched with my own eye's a teaching grabbing a child my their clothing and yelling at them for trying to jog past a group of kid's who was making fun of him. It broke my heart when my daughter told me that the she was getting picked on and the teacher calling her a baby all on the same day. Needless to say as a parent there was nothing that could be done. No one in the office cares and the secretary is very mean. We do plan on switching schools next year because of that. It's a shame I am not the only one who is going through this.Parent Review11y ago - Longfellow Middle School

5/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageThe teachers and administration here are absolutely fantastic. They work for the children and with the parents and students. All four of our children have attended Longfellow Middle School and have had an amazing time. The music program has continued to get even better. The robotics team has won state and world awards. The students work very hard. Sure you are going to find some bad apples but overall the school is wonderful. Success is not hard to achieve in this environment.Parent Review7y ago - Lorain High School

"Lorain is a cheap place to live but not good if you have kids. We are leaving Lorain to get our kids in better schools. There is a lot of gang violence and young teens dying. Don’t want my kids to grow up around that. "

"If you want to live in a community where your neighbors are more like family, and your children will have an endless supply of friends to play with, then Deerfield is the place. We've lived here for 5 years and love it. Everyone is kind and inviting. The only downside is the gun range, which is not moving any time soon. But honestly, after 5 years, we hardly notice the noise. But the nature and people surrounding us make up for it."

"Grew up on the West Side of Lorain, where most of my family still lives. Certain areas are better than others of course, but generally it is quiet and safe. Lorain has lots to offer like the boardwalk, the Palace theatre, and the International Fest in addition to being close to things like Cedar Point, Cleveland, and tons of shopping"
