    "Houses in this neighborhood have been overlooked in years past, but lately are being snatched up quickly and rehabbed due to their architectural charm and proximity to parks, shopping, freeways, and downtown. Madison Square is being created at the corner of Whetsel and Madison Avenues which will have a small park and new shopping boutiques. "

    "My husband and I have lived in Madison Place for over 6 years now, and we absolutely love it. The close proximity to Mariemont is a plus, and so walkable, lots of shops, parks and restaurants. We have two small children and it has been just great living here, so it makes me upset that some people have left negative comments about the area. Granted, we do not live in the heart of Madisonville, but I do not feel unsafe at all when I am at home. I would totally recommend my area to any new families; the old houses are built well and have tons of character. We love it, and I grew up in the country!"

    "Madisonville is a dying community. It seems like no one with good character that lives here is actually happy. The long-time residents stay just because its where they grew up, etc. There are quite a few children in the area, but no sense of community... This past Halloween, for example, no one showed up to our doorstep-- we had jack-o-lanterns out and all.. it was very disappointing. As a young couple renting on Chandler St, we were very ignorant on what we were getting ourselves into. Watch out for those greedy landlords... our house owes less tax for one year than we pay in rent. Extremely overpriced and poorly managed properties. The house looked cute on the outside, and it was in a "neighborhood", but it was a nightmare. Crime is getting bad in Madisonville, several murders in 2011... tons of loitering on Chandler & Whetsel in particular... very disheartening. The community has a dying business area (Madison Rd) and no real sense of community. Ms Angie is the only one that seems to have faith.. bless her heart. She tries her hardest to keep it going, but has also been discouraged since some local hoodlums broke into her house and stole her brand new tv... I'd be mad too. We'll see if she throws another block party..."
