6/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageI have a 7th grader and an 8th grader in this school. The majority of the teachers we have had during our time here have been excellent, caring educators. If a student's grade drops, tutoring is available both during school hours (lunch and AE) as well as after. I would like to see some technology improvements, as well as some nontraditional classes offered (foreign language, for example).Parent Review10y ago - Batavia Elementary School

6/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageI love this school. Our kids have gone there for 3 years. They have taken care of our kids like thier own. The principal is great and keeps the school and kids well kept. The children are very well behaved and listen to the teachers well. I am surprised how well theses teacher are able to work with such a large class and they do an exceptional job. Every staff member knows our children by name. My son has an exceptional IEP they have implemented. We are going to miss this school. We are moving out of state.Parent Review9y ago - Batavia High School

4/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageThe experience is pretty bad. The academics are decent, but the College Credit Plus program is discouraged and kept secret as much as possible by the administration. The extracurriculars are meh, but it is really whatever teachers are willing to pick up because the school does not have outside advisors for non-athletic activites. The diversity is terrible and not many people consider the feelings of their minority peers. Lastly, the direct student input is not welcomed by staff or administrators, since dissenting opinions are often ignored. Yes, the school will suffice to achieve a high school diploma, but many problems are acknowledged and ignored, which is extremely disappointing.Student Review5y ago - Check out schools near 218 Forest Ave.

"Our neighborhood is a small planned community situated on large 5 acre + lots with wide open spaces in between neighbors. Plenty of mature trees add to the quiet and privacy."

"My neighborhood has quick access to 275 which will take you to downtown in usually in less than 45 minutes. Traffic gets pretty congested during normal daytime working hours , and the commute home."

"Not like: there are no sidewalks; they only allow two pets haha. Like: they have grassy areas to walk around in or play with your dogs"

"It’s a great place to get the best of both worlds... City to the West and beautiful country to the East. With East Fork Lake and State Park is a fabulous BONUS! "

"The area itself is great and is convenient for every day life, only thing I worry about it the bullying problem at Batavia Schools."

"Love the quiet, decent neighbors for the most part, crime is minimal. The culture is dismal and at night main st. gives me the impression that we are under duress of some kind of right wing military junta but other than that great place to live. "

"Streets are blocked for parades every time a resident of the town graduates college. You can catch a pitcher of domestic at Grammas pizza. There’s a haunted house on 5th street hill, it’s haunted by the ghosts of many teen pregnancies. There’s an old playground where a school used to be. It’s haunted as well. It is also used by the board of health to remind everyone to get a tetanus shot. Newest business to come in town is a yoga studio. “Hot or cold yoga” is written in sharpie on a piece of plywood outside the studio. "

"Public transportation, particularly to downtown Cincinnati, is nearly impossible in this area without long wait times. Most traffic is directly into the 275 loop in rush hour and it can be a headache to get anywhere that isn't connected by Clough or 32. "

"Dog owners are always walking their dogs on leashes up and down the sidewalks. All breeds and types are seen from yorkies to Great Danes. There are close by parks with trails great for dogs and owners."

"A nice small town, but it’s the county seat with the jail and bail bondsman on a couple of corners...close to the schools. "
- Brenda C.

"I've never lived anywhere else where flooding and litter is such a problem. In Clermont County the taxes are lower but that's because you get no services and it's filthy. Particularly Union Township. You get what you pay for and I really regret buying a home here. "

"We've lived here for 17 years and raised our kids here. We are close to everything and I feel safe at home. It's a nice, quiet neighborhood."
