"there are a lot of loose dogs and half of them are mean and not dog friendly. people on the south of Akron don't pick up the dogs bodily fluids and keep our neighborhood clean."
  • Trulia User
"Loose dogs running around. Cars drive up and down streets fast . Lots of drug trafficking . Not recommended for someone buying and living in the home "
  • Trulia User
"The marathon in September children trick-or-treating Christmas and Fourth of July and memorial day and Labor Day or best holidays or hang flags that might make this area so special other than that yeah loud music speeding cars please cars firetruck and ambulance every day feels like I’m in New York City all over again"

  • Trulia User
"don't move here. it's a bunch of inner city kids trashing the place. literal garbage on the streets and in yards"
  • Trulia User
"we have save a lot near by. close to downtown. walking distance to main Street saloon and breakfast diner. Sheetz down the street. close to giant eagle, dollar general, Marc's, McDonald's, Burger King "
  • Trulia User
"I have been in neighborhood for a cpl of months..and loving it and like all our neighbors around us.. keep on being real my friends"
  • Trulia User
"I’ve lived in the neighborhood for 18 years. I’ve seen this neighborhood’s qualities shine recently. We know several neighbors on first name basis. People in the area are friendly in general. I recently got a puppy and the neighborhood is convenient for walking and there are many pet owners around and kids playing outside so it provides a homey feel. It’s a very central location to several major commerce areas too. "
  • Trulia User
"Hey its the hood... gotta love it! lol. place you can raise your children, a little rough around the edges with inner city charm."
  • Trulia User
"Saying hello to your neighbors The teenagers in the neighborhood are out of control has some parents leave the kids in the house what a walk to the store there’s a reason why I wouldn’t move from where I’m at"
  • Trulia User
"friendly folks and stores in walking distance. safe to walk at night by my self. only been living here for 4 months but its a nice neighborhood. "
  • Trulia User
"I live and work here, its the worst. You cannot even get off the highway without panhandlers (whom the city allows to be there if they register- crazy) at every off ramp, corner and store staring at you or approaching you. I was robbed the very weekend I moved in one year ago and they stole every item - right down to my silverware and bedding. Of course - no one saw a single thing - it took me three UHaul trips to move in by the way. I kept my dog along the back fence to protect the yard so people kept throwing shards of glass down into my yard to hurt him. Of course we cannot keep him out now. And just yesterday I let my son go to store to be subjucted to vulgar and lude acts by a couple in line. Never move here, they would be better to eliminate this area and leave it as empty lots. It sickens me to go home, but I moved here to be close to work and the University for my children. We have suffered greatly for it. And the Police are equal to the criminals, they told me they have 6,000 break ins a year and I had to threaten the news to motivate the officer to get "approval" for a crime scene tech. Not a single sole from law enforcement followed up and refuse to help me when I called. I was not a prriority. Your much better off anywhere else in Ohio -but please do not move to Akron if you have any dignity, self respect or expectation of qualify living environment for yourself and family. I bought my house and have to save to get out of it - it has changed me for the worse being out here and that is very sad. I used to believe in people and nieghbors - now I am fighting to not let the constant negative and air of dispair swallow me whole. I wouldn't even feel comfortable selling my house to anyone but my worst enemy. "

"I have lived in this area my entire life. The area is definitly getting worse. You constantly see fights and police officers. Theres been instances of gun shots being heard right down the road. It would be nice if someone fixed it up and rented out to families already in the area but I would not move here from a different neighborhood. I definitly would not move my kids here, the schools are terrible. Children get jumped all the time walking to and from school, even just leaving the house today a young man asked me if I was interested in buying some dvds kinda gives you and idea of what you would be moving into, And dealing with on a daily."
