"The commute is an easy one. 45 minutes to one hour. All traffic is in the city. Once you step outside city lines, you’re in the clear unless there’s an accident. It takes my colleagues the same or longer to get from on borough to the next. "

"I’ve lived in Yorktown Heights since 1990. My current home for 20 years, my previous one was 3 miles away. The schools are excellent, and there are many activities for families. Parents are very supportive of education and involved with the school activities. I love having bunnies, and birds living in my yard. No need to feed the birds, they eat the berries in the bushes. The deer always come through the yard with their fawns. I enjoy watching them. It’s a great neighborhood to trick or treat, neighbors are kind and helpful. You can see neighbors when walking with or without your dog or riding bikes. It’s a lot like the kind of neighborhood I grew up in, where neighborhood kids would just gather to play outside. (Although now the kids text or call first- a sign of the times). Places of worship have strong community, along with many service groups and small business owners. You can be in New York in an hour, or Apple picking 5 minutes away. I wouldn’t have wanted to live anywhere else. I’m glad I raised my kids here."
