5/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageAs a parent, I feel that there isn't nearly enough parent involvement since covid. All of my friends have days where they are able to go to their children's school and volunteer , or to read to their class. (children as old as 4th grade). That doesn't happen here, which makes me think that they have more to hide. On several occasions I've driven by the school during recess and saw zero supervision. Assistants were either talking to one another or looking at their phones. Twice I saw strangers on the OTHER side of the fence talking to my child and other children, it's completely unsafe. The language that the teachers and TA's use with the students isn't appropriate at most times. I've been teaching for over 12 years, and no matter how stressed I was or how bad my day was going, I would never speak to a child in my class, they way that my child and his classmates have been spoken to. They don't do anything to promote kindness amongst their peers. No assembly, or kindness week/ month. 6/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageI am very disappointed at Rosemarie Ann Siragusa and its principal. My 4 YEAR OLD SON was bullied by another student in the class. The other student physically assaulted my son. He choked him and went as far as spitting on my son. I complained to the teacher and nothing was done except a meeting with the teacher. "People are friendly and parking is a bit difficult … but not bad . Walking distant to bus is ok . Driving to stores is a bit of a challenge. But that is New York / Yonkers for you. Over I like the area a lot . "

"It is an okay place to live. Parking is annoying because many people rent the homes and park on the streets. There are a lot of homes that are split into apartments. The schools could be better as well. Other than that it is nice area. Can get into the city in no time as well."

"Nice area but not much privacy. Lots are pretty decent not too big or too small. Town of Yonkers is starting to get very over crowded. Plenty of holiday spirit and kimball is always decorated so nice for that time of year. "

"I have access to bus nearby. Con is long waits if you miss your bus... about 45 min. Metro north is a long walk but safe. A bit pricey but clean safe trains. Trains are a long wait also once you miss your train . About an hour wait. "

"It’s very close to malls and shopping centers , quite area and good neighborhoods. The only reason I am leaving is because we want to start a family and schools in Yonkers are not the best . And if we want to send our kids to private schools , it will cost a lot of money . And to buy a multi family house , it will cost us a lot . So we don’t have a lot of options around here."

"There are plenty of sports clubs to play on, parks and fields and different cultural centers. Safe as anywhere else, both my kids grew up here and we’ve made many friends. People of many cultures have helped diversify the community and keep the same family values."

"People try to look out fr each other, and as our older residents pass. A diverse group of young families has come and spruced up the plder homes and gotten everyone to keep up. On nice evenings, women run and walk the neighborhood alone, police patrol and respond quickly to calls. In 29 years only crime is from our own children, non-violent robbery of homes and garages when they are away. If you lock your house it’s not an issue. It’s so nice we tend to be careless sometimes. But the Taxes Are High, but we have good policing, fire service and EMS. Three level 1 Trauma Centers including a Nobel Prize winning teaching hospital, several smaller hospitals and numerous urgent care. "

"This is a wonderful, clean quiet neighborhoood. The homeowners take pride in how their homes look. The proximity to the city and all points east and west are fabulous. Shopping is excellant as well as a HUGE multiplex theatre and restaurants. For the price it is a steal!"
