Fully rehabbed hunting lodge, hand-built Woodstock, NY area home. It is located on the banks of the Bushkill Creek, which along with the Esopus River feeds the Ashokan Reservoir, NYC's largest. Facing it from Watson Hollow Road, the house neighbors state land on the right and a deep-slope, unbuildable mountain woods on the front. The left, driveway end borders a small woods that separates the house from a neighboring house. Thus, the house is surrounded on three sides by tall sycamore, pine, and maple trees. There is also tree coverage in the front, shielding the house from lightly trafficked Watson Hollow Road. The front lawn facing the road and the rear lawn facing Bushkill Creek are well maintained. The utilities--flowing hot water and forced hot air furnace--are in a small basement finished around 2005 accessible through a classic Bilco Door in the front. There is a Generac backup generator. There is also broadband and cable. There is a large, screened-in porch that affords a broad view of the Bushkill Creek. There is a green, double burner (the smoke is burned) fireplace insert, an antique, functional coal stove, and a Franklin stove as well as backup electric heat. The forced hot air system works well and is the one on which I chiefly rely. There are three bedrooms, a living room, an unusually large bathroom, and a small kitchen. The bathroom includes a double sink and one toilet, although there is ample room for a second toilet if desired. The house was rehabbed between 1999 and 2006, when the following were introduced, replaced, or upgraded: foam insulation in floor and basement, plumbing system, forced-hot-air heating system, flowing hot water, claw bathtub, toilet, double sink, closets, soft-wood pine floors, ceiling insulation, wood ceilings in bedrooms, doors, windows, stove, kitchen unit, and electrical system. We also put in a sweeping front porch and French doors. In 2020 the house was repainted both inside and outside and we installed new drapes, a kitchen-stove vent, and new overhead cabinets in the kitchen. In 2005 the bathroom was extended along with a new foundation and a small basement, which houses the furnace, water purifier, and hot water heater. The water was tested in 2020 as 100% potable.

Students feel unsafe and watched as if the teachers are predators. When brought to administration, little was done to make the student feel safe. My son is an anxious kid and generally needs extra support at school because of that, and I have been really impressed this year by how kind, caring, and patient the teachers are at Bennett.
