The teachers are great and the students very respectful. It's a very positive learning environment.

My husband and I were not happy with the way some of teachers and principals act at Sachem. I feel the teacher union at Sachem is so strong and so many teachers at Sachem can do and say whatever they want to students and parents. When my daughter was in 7th grade I decided I didn’t want to deal with Sachem school district when my daughter entered high school. The best decision my husband and I ever made for my daughter was sending her to St. Anthony’s High School in Huntington. SA is an amazing school and if any parent is not happy you can call the school or the principal, Brother David and whatever the issue is it is handled so professionally. Any issues at Sachem are never resolved, Sachem School District goes out of their way to make students and parents miserable. Sachem could be an amazing school if they cleared house and fire all the substandard nasty teachers. They can’t do that because its the most powerful teachers union on Long Island. Teachers can do whatever they like at Sachem and they all know it. Who is going to take on that teachers union, no one. Denise Kleinman , the principal at Nicomis should be FIRED period. She is nasty, rude, and she loves to have verbal arguments with parents. Hands down she is the absolute worst person in the entire district. The woman is EVIL.

A callous school that only cares about their bottom line. They have no idea what the other one is doing, and it's incredibly pathetic. And do what you can to keep your kid out of this school if you want them to feel safe at all.
