1/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageWhen my oldest daughter attened from Fall of 1993 to 1999, the teachers got her from being a difficult student (she had ADD) to being a good student. However, now, with my 11 year old in 5th grade there, things have changed a bit. When I tried to enlist the school's help with my daughter's attendance issues, I got as far as a few rounds of phone tag with the school psychologist and finally decided my time would be better spent trying to address the issue on my own. Also, how can they give my daughter "Honor Roll" and "High Honor Roll" status, then turn around and say she is not meeting the stanards for ELA and needs summer school? This seems to be a problem with atleast a few of the RCSD schools.Parent Review11y ago

2/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageMy child is constantly getting sick. They are not being taught proper hand washing. They think spongebob is acceptable for 5 year olds to watch during lunch. They are ranked in the 25 worst performing schools in the state. They can not maintain a safe environment outside the school for parents and children crossing the street. STAY FAR AWAY FROM THIS SCHOOL!Parent Review8y ago

2/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageI have 2 kids that goes to 43 school. The teachers and staff are all nice people but the cleanliness is horrible and there is very limited space. The cafe is very small and crowded. I am very involved with my kids education and I have to be more so involved with my daughter's because her teachers (both K and 1st) don't teach age appropriate work. My daughter should have learned to spell, read, add and subtract in K. I ask for more work and don't get it. This year she has had 3+ teachers and they do not push her to learn. I think she should know more and be able to do the work I give her. Her current "teacher" gave her points she didn't earn on multiple spelling tests that I have reviewed. This school needs better teachers, better cleaning crew, better food and more space. The grading system seems to sugar coat failure. A "2" should not be considered excellent or satisfactory if the student is partially meeting standards. Primarily white/suburban schools don't have theses problems and they want to keep schools segregated by "location" is slavery and racism really over? Our kids have to "win" a chance to get into a good school. Make city schools like suburban schoolsParent Review10y ago

2/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageI would not recommend this school to anybody, the students are out of control and the staff seems to not be able to control them. Is hard for the students to learn in this type of environment.Parent Review1y ago
