5/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageWe live not too far from the area but because we know Ms. Diaz kindergarten edu we decided to put my son in this school. He went here from kindergarten to 5th grade, so pretty much like I was engage with other teachers and staffs especially to Ms. Alina Reyes Faculty Dept. She and Ms. Diaz were such an angels because they treated my son and others very nicely, making sure that they express their warmth connection to everybody. I gave it 1 star because of these 5th grade edu who treated my son unfairly. They treated my son as a "troublemaker" which in fact that he wasn't starting and alone or whatever chaos is happening in the school like playing around and stuffs. They never allowed him to speak his side and the truth but always assuming he's the one who always started chaos. This never happen ever since he was in kindergarten till 4th grade cuz he was a good student who always participates class activities like singing, piano and stuffs. Only because my son told me bout this teachers who keeps on yelling him for any reasons. Also, I can feel the negative energy with these teachers since the very first day of the school. How awful it was! No, I don't recommend this school first, most of the teachers can't speak in english fluently, second as you can see they hv a very low niche grade all over NY so better check the school reviews so def don't go here.Parent Review3w ago - Ps 98 Shorac Kappock

5/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageAs a parent, my opinion of this school is a joke! I pulled my child from this school at the end of the last school year. Misconduct from both the principal, Lupe Leon and inappropriate relationships with staff members from last year's assistant principal Annette Rufino. Why would a parent send their 11 year old to a building where there are 20 year old students? Yes, this is the case as there are 2 other schools in the building. Leon treats her staff terribly which is why many are leaving. Maybe new leadership can eventually turn this school around.Parent Review6y ago - Paula Hedbavny School

7/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageI had two children attend this school. One child attended K-6 and the other child attended K-3. We had amazing teachers during the elementary years. My older son who has an IEP had a lot of support and invested teachers. Was it perfect, no. However, I always felt a sense of love and care which made me proud to be a parent here and be invested in the school. Recently, the school has gone through some changes. There is a new principal who is very invested in the school (teachers, families and staff). The principal came in at a difficult time when the school had experienced a significant loss of two students and then the pandemic. The other challenge the school is experiencing is the school location which should happen within the next couple years. This has caused some hardship in the school such as under enrollment. Overall the elementary school is full of dedicated staff. My only experience at the middle school level was 6th grade, which I believe was not the best due to classroom management and lack of rigor and school-wide discipline. I had wonderful IEP meetings K-5, however, in 6th grade the IEP was terrible. No teacher reports were prepared for the meeting and little to no data about my child. Now he is at a new school and the school team has even referenced how terribly written the IEP is.Parent Review1y ago - High School For Excellence And Innovation
