8/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageThis school enables bullies and they rule with impunity. The administrators and teachers protect them and then retaliate against your child if you complain.Parent Review3y ago - Ps 234 Independence School

10/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageThe school has beautiful facilities and fairly strong teachers. It can just feel a little big. Since it's the default option for the neighborhood, the parents aren't as consistently engaged as they are at some of the other schools. The PTA is very welcoming.Parent Review4y ago - Nyc Lab High School For Collaborative Studies

8/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageI have been a Lab parent for 8 years and I truly love both schools. It was a shame that the founders, Sheila and Rob split them up right before they retired... My oldest child has graduated, and is loving college. He thrived at both the middle and high school. My other child is entering 10th grade, and he also has had an amazing education, and experience so far. I think that the high school has stayed true to the philosophies of Lab, which are kindness, compassion, academic rigor and collaboration. The middle school has become more test score focused, perhaps bowing to the pressure of standardized tests and the desire to get into specialized high schools. Regardless, they are both amazing schools, and I couldn't be happier with my children's experiences. Fyi, most of the original teachers are still at the high school...Parent Review7y ago - Life Sciences Secondary School

2/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageI guess Im not the only one who feels this school is not providing the proper education to the students. Leadership in this school is lacking, and many of the students do what they want. There are no rules, students use cell phones in the school (look in Facebook), use foul language in front of teachers (ask your children), cut classes in the bathrooms , and for some reason students are seen around the neighborhood before school ends(ask the people who live there). Its sad to know that no one who works in the school has taken any kind of responsibility to notice these things.Parent Review11y ago - Nyc Lab Ms For Collaborative Studies

9/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageThe overall quality of the teaching is absolutely terrific, and they have stellar leadership setting the example from the top. Their school principal, Meg, is so invested in every student's success and her enthusiasm is contagious. My wife and I feel blessed our son is able to attend this wonderful place where his teachers are actively involved in not only making sure he does his work, but that he UNDERSTANDS it. The school is also in constant communication with us, the parents, to ensure that we are informed of what is happening in school, should our children be hesitant to do so themselves, i.e., slipping grades. It's very difficult for my wife and I to imagine a better educational experience for our son than that which we have ALL enjoyed with Lab Middle School. Further, while I've only singled out the stellar principal, I cannot emphasize enough how amazing they ENTIRE staff has been; an amazing and successful team effort.Parent Review4y ago - Ms 260 Clinton School Writers And Artists

"I can walk to work my office in soho or cabs if needed. Tribeca is very good for subways. There are plentiful Citibikes and the bike paths are getting better. "

"This is one of the very best and most accessible neighborhoods in Manhattan. My commute is an 11 block walk but you can be in midtown in 10-15 minutes and Brooklyn in 10. Couldn’t be easier!"

"Dogs are welcomed everywhere there’s even a dog park not too far away. There’s also a few stores you can bring them in with you. Only bad thing is some people don’t pick up after their dogs and that’s gross. Oh and the dogs that meet on the street are usually pretty friendly with each other as well."

"Having lived elsewhere in Manhattan, I've fallen in love with Tribeca. It has everything I need, a great Whole foods to relieve me of my pay check and from what I have been told, an excellent elementary school. My condo is walking distance to work (FIDI) and is convenient to public transit. I live about 5 minutes from the esplanade along the Hudson...I just cross over at Murray and can go walk, sit in the park, or if I ever get up the nerve, play some basketball in all that green space and parks. Lots of restaurants, including 3 decent Irish pubs, also on Murray. It may not appeal to the younger, single folks but we do seem to have lots of young families in the area. NYC is a city of neighborhoods. Tribeca is a great one."

"I live here and work nearby. Agree with other reviewers that it is up and coming but not quite there. Its too quiet at night and the restaurant options, though fantastic are too slim! that being said, i love my building and how clean and safe the streets are. The opening of the Smyth Hotel and the W is encouraging."
