4/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageMy daughter is my third child to attend Albert Leonard and we are extremely happy with her education. Teachers are attentive, challenge the kids, approachable and prepare them well for High School. Great communication from all staff, I find it hard to believe these ratings not sure if it's due to parents opting out of state testing! All of my children and neighborhood kids have nothing but positive views on Albert Leonard.Parent Review3y ago - New Rochelle High School

7/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageI had the experience of working with Franco Miele when he first started as principal, and can say with absolute certainty he needs to be removed by the district. He didn't know what he was doing and asked community members for huge favors for the school- and when he messed up he punished the children and/or teachers to cover it up. It's really much worse than it sounds but I don't want to reveal identities of the other parties involved. I just think he is a truly bad person unfit to be principal.Teacher Review3mo ago - Check out schools near 50 White Oak St #4A.

What Locals Say about New Rochelle
- Arys1293

"Since New Rochelle has been making all the new buildings, they have been removing all the mom and pop shops by making it so expensive or just kicking them out. The streets are so bad to drive in. They are removing all parking lots to build more buildings yet there’s no mall. The property taxes are so high, it isn’t worth it. Go to a better and safer school district in Westchester. "

"Its a cool area. Some crime here and there but what place doesn’t have a little crime. Has summer basketball games. Kind of loud if you’re coming from a quiet neighborhood. Lived here nearly 36 years. All is good is still good. Public transportation everywhere and corner stores everywhere that stay open pretty late. "

"This neighborhood is very diverse. I personally believe its important for our kids to grow up in very diverse neighborhoods. I am a person of color and my kids are able to meet successful people who look like them in this neighborhood and I love that. New Rochelle and White Plains are the most diverse in regards to income and race. "

"They would like the nearby parks, which dogs can go for a run and play with them. There isn’t any cons I can think of, maybe a lot of foot traffic in certain places which can be a problem if your dog is hard to handle and not well trained. But other than that great neighborhoods and parks to take your dog out for walks."
